Abstract

 AN EFFICIENT METHOD CALLED ULTRASONIC-ASSISTED SYNTHESIS HAS BEEN REPORTED FOR THE ADDING NI TO CERIA-ZIRCONIA SUPPORT. CERIA-ZIRCONIA SOLID SOLUTION ITSELF WAS PREPARED BY THE CO-PRECIPITATION METHOD. SYNTHESIZED NANO CATALYST CHARACTERIZED BY XRAY DIFFRACTION (XRD), N2 ADSORPTION (BET), FTIR SPECTRA AND SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (SEM) TECHNIQUES. THE APPARENT CRYSTALLITE SIZES OF THE ZIRCONIA, CERIA AND NICKEL PHASES WERE DETERMINED USING SCHERER'S EQUATION WHICH ARE ESTIMATED AS 48, 15 AND 22 NM, RESPECTIVELY.
