Abstract

 CHIRAL 1,2,3-TRIAZOLE COMPOUNDS ARE VERY IMPORTANT PHARMACOPHORES THAT CAN EXERT MULTIPLE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES [1], E.G. HYDROXYLATED DERIVATIVES HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED AS POTENT Β-ADRENERGIC RECEPTOR BLOCKERS. IN ADDITION, IT IS DESIRABLE TO OBTAIN TARGET MOLECULES WITH EXCELLENT PURITIES, BUT MINIMIZING THE USE OF HARMFUL SOLVENTS, REAGENTS AND ALSO PURIFICATION STEPS INVOLVED IN A SYNTHETIC PATHWAY. IN THIS SENSE, THE EMPLOYMENT OF WATER AS REACTION MEDIUM RECYCLABLE CATALYSTS AND THE DESIGN OF ONE-POT MULTI-STEP SEQUENTIAL OR CONCURRENT SYNTHESIS [2] ARE HIGHLY DESIRED. IN THE LAST FEW YEARS ENZYMES HAVE BEEN ELEGANTLY EMPLOYED TOGETHER WITH ORGANO- OR METAL-CATALYSTS, ACHIEVING (CHEMO ENZYMATIC) ONE-POT MULTI-STEP SYNTHESIS OF INTERESTING COMPOUNDS. THE BIOCATALYSTS HAVE MANY ADVANTAGES. THEY ARE USED IN GREEN CONDITION THAT IS MILD AND NEAR-AMBIENT CONDITIONS OF TEMPERATURE, PH AND PREFERENTIALLY IN AQUEOUS MEDIA. THE BIOCATALYST IS EASILY OBTAINABLE AT LOW COST AND ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY MANNER [4].WE REPORT HERE A NEW, SIMPLE, ONE-POT PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF ENANTIOPUREB- HYDROXYTRIAZOLES FROM SIMPLE A-HALO KETONES (SCHEME 1), WHICH COMBINES THE USE OF PLANTS AS BIOCATALYST AND CLICK REACTIONS. PRODUCTS WERE OBTAINED IN VERY GOOD YIELDS WITH HIGH EE. THE STRUCTURE OF PRODUCTS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED BY NMR SPECTROSCOPY.
