Abstract

 NEW FULL-POLYSACCHARIDE ANTIMICROBIAL MEMBRANES WERE PREPARED BY CROSSLINKING OF CHITOSAN WITH CHITOSAN DIALDEHYDE AND THEN, REDUCTION OF SILVER IONS BY SODIUM BOROHYDRIDE. THE STRUCTURE OF THE SILVER NANOCOMPOSITE WAS CONFIRMED BY FTIR SPECTROSCOPY, SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM), TRANSITION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (TEM), AND THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS (TGA). THE SILVER NANOCOMPOSITES DEMONSTRATE GOOD ANTIBACTERIAL EFFECTS AGAINST ESCHERICHIA COLI.
