Abstract

 Since 1999, the continuous Master of Architecture courses were reduced to Bachelor level. This accelerated the launch of such courses since 1989 so that by 2007 a total of 3, 209 students were studying for a B Arch degree in various schools in Iran. This significant increase in the number of students has caused concerns on ensuring a minimum educational standard. This paper surveys views of architecture professors on the output of BArch courses. The impact of two important factors on the quality of education-length and faculty capacity-is then assessed. On this basis, recommendations are made for improving the quality of these courses.
