Abstract

Background and Aim: Values are one of the most fundamental factors directing human behavior in any society and play an important role in economic, social and political growth and development. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the factor structure of the faculty members' value orientation scale. Method: In this descriptive correlational study, the statistical population of the study included all faculty members of Shiraz university (610 people) using the relative stratified sampling method and based on Cochran's formula, 219 faculty members as a sample. were chosen. To analyze the data, item analysis, Cronbach's alpha and confirmatory factor analysis and SPSS 23 and Amos 23 software were used. findings: The result of item analysis showed that each of the dimensions of the questionnaire has high validity and reliability. The results of confirmatory factor analysis also indicated that each of the dimensions has a high validity to explain the scale of value orientation. Cronbach's alpha also indicated high scale reliability. Results: The findings of this study indicate the construct validity of the scale determined in the university and is a suitable tool for determining the type of value orientation of faculty members. Therefore, planners and administrators can use it to determine the type of value orientation of faculty members.
