Abstract:

INTRODUCTION: FLOATING BREAKWATERS ARE STRUCTURES WHICH PROVIDE A SAFE BREATHING AREA FOR THE VESSELS BY REDUCING THE INCIDENT WAVE HEIGHT. FLOATING BREAKWATERS ARE SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE FOR RUBBLE MOUNDED BREAKWATERS IN THE SITUATION SUCH AS DEEP WATER, UNSUITABLE BED CHARACTERISTIC, HIGH SEDIMENTATION, ETC   WHEN THE INCIDENT WAVE PERIOD IS LESS THAN 5S. TRANSITION COEFFICIENT (RATIO OF THE TRANSMITTED WAVE TO THE INCIDENT WAVE) IS USED TO EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE STRUCTURES. EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF CARVER (1979) SHOWED THAT ADDING Screen UNDER THE PONTOON HAS LITTLE EFFECT IN REDUCTION OF TRANSMUTATION COEFFICIENT [1]. USING PHYSICAL MODELING HERMANSON (2008) CONCLUDED THAT TRANSITION COEFFICIENT WILL REDUCE UP TO 12% BY ADDING A Screen UNDER THE FLOATING PONTOON [2]. REDUCTION OF TRANSITION COEFFICIENT BY INCREASING THE Screen HEIGHT UNDER THE FLOATING PONTOON IN FLOATING BREAKWATERS IS ALSO REPORTED IN FOROOZANDEH’S (2006) EXPERIMENTAL STUDY [3]. IN CURRENT STUDY THE OPTIMUM Screen HEIGHT IN Screen ADDED PONTOON TYPE FLOATING BREAKWATERS IS SURVEYED ACCORDING TO THE DATA PROVIDED BY SOIL CONSERVATIVE AND WATERSHED RESEARCH CENTER.

Abstract:

Background: This study aims to investigate the dispersion of pollutant gases emitted from the Sahand thermal power plant's chimney and determine the maximum concentration of these pollutants in the surrounding areas. Materials and Methods: The emission of exhaust gases from the chimney was simulated using Screen View software. This software calculates the maximum concentration of pollutants at specific distances from the chimney for all air stability classes, using input data such as the mass emission rate of pollutants, the temperature and velocity of the exhaust gases, the ambient temperature, the chimney's dimensions, and the height in the direction of emission. This research calculated the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide in eight directions: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, and northwest of the power plant chimney. Results: The modeling results indicate that at a distance of 1218 meters from the power plant chimney, the maximum 1-hour concentrations of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide are 915.9, 54.14, and 1.305 micrograms per cubic meter, respectively. Moreover, for areas with higher elevations relative to the chimney, the maximum 24-hour concentrations for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide are 680.5, 40.22, and 0.97 micrograms per cubic meter, respectively. Conclusion: The levels of nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide in some areas near the power plant exceed the permissible limits set by the environmental standards of Iran and the World Health Organization, posing a health risk to the residents of these areas.

Abstract:

The present study aims to provide guidelines for using Screencapture technology in translation process research. Screencapture technology reFers to digital recording of actions on a computer Screen. The study shows how a researcher, making use of Screencapture, can obtain information regarding the diFFiculties and issues involved in the process of translation. In this study, a group of translators were given limited amount of time to complete their work, andat the same time their performance on the computer Screen was recorded by means of a Screencapture application. The data provided valuable information such as self-correction, pause, compromising, dictionary use, shortcuts and immediate revision in the process of translation. Using such a device, one could reduce the Former disadvantages in translation process research using think-aloud protocols which made the participants conscious of being studied. The article finallylists a number of advantages of using this method as well as its limitations.

Abstract:

In recent years, changes have occurred in the TV-watching paradigm. One of the most important changes is the second Screen that accompanies the watching. the second Screening is the new experience of watching television, allowing the viewer to interact in a different way with a television program. the present study has been done by deep and semi-structured interviews with 21 managers of five private TV networks in Afghanistan and 20-second Screen users and TV audiences to identify the factors affecting the promotion and development of the second Screen to increase the interaction of TV audiences in Afghanistan. The factors affecting the promotion and development of the second Screen in Afghanistan are classified into six categories: the features of the second Screen, the factors that predispose the second Screen, the second Screen deterrent, the second Screen development strategies, and the consequences of second Screen development. And also factors of developer (individual, organizational, environmental) and restrictive factors (individual, organizational, environmental) are separated in this study. And on the other hand, expanding of second Screening empowers audiences to shape public narratives alongside news organizations and political elites.

Abstract:

In this descriptive study, we have tried to investigate the evolvement of the media industry from the perspective of changes in media consumption specially television consumption. Thus, by reviewing the current and emerging situation of media industry and the growth of new tools and social media, their impact on TV consumption is addressed. This impact that is shown in the form of multi-Screen media consumption is obvious in developed countries, but the global trends clearly indicate that this trend is emerging in developing countries as well, which will gradually be highlighted among the people with increasing Internet penetration and development of new tools. Therefore in this paper we described the new phenomenon of "multi-Screen media consumption" along with the concept of social television consumption. Afterward the Strategies of some media organizations in dealing with this emerging phenomenon have been checked. In hope that describing the emerging situation in television consumption help to develop a new audience studies in Iran and to alert IRIB media managers to face this emerging phenomenon. As the purpose of environmental scanning in the media industry is helping decision-makers to prepare the media organization for the upcoming trends.

Abstract:

The paper focuses on Anna Karenina, the famous masterpiece by Leo Tolstoy, and its latest Screen versions. The fruitful collaboration, accomplished by two remarkable figures of contemporary British culture – the director Joe Wright and the playwright Tom Stoppard as a scriptwriter – was released in 2012. Since Screen adaptation of classics, as well as any kind of remake, is undoubtedly challenging but nevertheless intriguing for both creators and viewers, it seems to be an exciting topic for research. The situation when a piece of great literature is transposed into a different medium, such as a film, commonly gives rise to fierce debates, which, in turn, becomes thought-provoking. What is more, the fact of making the film by the British crew basing on the Russian literary chef-d'oeuvre allows assuming the dialogue of cultures is implied in the considered work of cinematographic art. Thus, these aspects of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina and its interpretation and reception are highlighted in the study undertaken. Furthermore, the study intends to analyse and investigate this masterpiece's literary and morphological aspects from a unique perspective.
