Abstract: 

As the issue of L2 literacy in an EFL context is being emphasized upon, the concern of how this discipline is developed merges to how it can go on side by side in the L1 educational context. Yet the question of "models and assumptions" that is very effective in L2 literacy are of great concern: whether these models or assumptions exist in FL context, and if so, how they are built and shaped by FL learners.Researchers have advocated that there is a strong relationship between the internalized models of the ESL readers and the types of information they focus on while reading. Searching for the reasons of such modeling made some researchers respond to this question. They speculated that it may be due to the context of the L1 literacy.The present research is an attempt to go after such model-building of foreign language literacy among 35 medical students. The data were collected using strategy questionnaires namely SBSI, which were in two versions: one in English and the other in Farsi. These questionnaires were given at the interval of 15-20 days to avoid any kind of intervention. Finally, a written interview called "Burke Reading Interview" was given. The aim was to deduce the unarticulated and unconscious theory of reading held by the subjects.The results obtained from these instruments and a pilot study conducted prior to this research show that subjects have models and assumptions about reading in English; moreover, these models have been shaped and built up in the L1 context.The results are useful for L2 literacy educators detecting their learners’ hidden assumptions about the reading process and especially for those who are in charge of designing L1 literacy curriculum to develop a more compatible and professional literacy syllabus.

Abstract: 

Khayyam’s poems have been interpreted differently for many years. A group of interpreters of his poem(s) have considered his thoughts as mystic. But it is obvious that such an interpretation is not compatible with any of the criteria of schools of Islamic mysticism and it is beyond the norms of scientific research. It must be stated that it is prerequisite for the doctrines of precise interpretation to define every mystic thought, and then evaluate Khayyam’s thoughts against them. In this way, we can recognize the range of similarities and dissimilarities of the two.

Abstract: 

In this essay, after presenting a brief background of deconstructionism, I have studied and analyzed a few stories from the second chapter of Mathnavi Molavi by applying Drida' deconstruction method. The aim of this essay is to study psychological substructure and moral social super structural of Mathnavi through sampling a few stories. Moreover, the internal relationships of text components are represented in the sequence of stories.

Abstract: 

It is quite a long time since numerous researchers and writers have exercised their minds and tried their hands at analyzing and understanding the mystery and miracle of the Holy Quran. Researchers including interpreters, jurisprudents, theologians, and Hadith experts have all invested a lifetime asset of scientific and technical views in contemplating this divine miracle. The results of such critical approaches have been countless independent and authentic materials offered to the Muslim nations and the world alike. This paper employs a linguistic approach and looks into the structure of Quranic language. With the development of theoretical and applied linguistics, Arab scholars, too, have shown a growing critical interest in modern linguistic methods of inquiry. However, these attempts have mainly covered poetic and prosaic texts, and have overlooked Quranic language as a rich source of linguistic study. Thus, this paper treats the Quran as a text which could be linguistically analyzed.

Abstract: 

Undoubtedly, tradition is one of the most important sources of innovation. Although this sounds true, presenting proofs and examples can, on the one hand, illustrate the share of tradition in literature, and one the other hand, introduce one of the most significant ways of innovating. Therefore, Mas’oud Sa`d as an early traditional poet – and Sa’di- as a recent innovative poet are compared. Infact, knowing the bachground of Persian literature is one of the most important factors of sa`dis innovative achievements. Here, Mas’oud's areas of language, content, and rhetorics are undeniable.

Abstract: 

The main goal of this essay is to reveal the Arabic literary tradition of a great Persian scholar named Sheikh–al–Rais Qajar, The grandson of Fath–Ali Shah Qajar.After completing his studies in various branches of Arabic literature including morphology, syntax and rhetorics, this prince wrote an Arabic ode under the title of "complaint" praising the Prophet–peace is upon him–then complaining to him of some of the then authorities' rudness to himself.We have translated the verses and explained every significant words and expressions within the ode.
