The relationship between thinking styles and identity styles was investigated within contexts of Sternberg's theory of self – government and Berzonskg's model of identity styles. Participants were 239 students (126 male, 113 female) from Shiraz University. According to the research target just functions of thinking style, including legislative, executive and judicial, was measured by Sternberg's and Wagner's inventory. Identity styles were measured by ISI-6G, revised by White and colleagues. According to Berzonsky's model these styles are: informational, normative and diffuse/ avoidant. To determine reliability of measures, Cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated and to examine validity, factor analysis method was used. The findings confirm the relationship between identity styles and thinking styles. The results also showed that each identity style is predicted by a different profile of thinking style.
