The purpose of this study was comparison of alexithymia, stress and attachment in divorcing couples. Subjects (119 female, 63 male) were collected from Guilan Family Judicature. The instruments were Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20, Bressi et al., 1996) Perceived Stress Scale (PSS, Cohen, et, al, 1987) and Attachment Styles Questioner (Hazan & Shaver 1987). Analysis was based on Pearson, poly choric, poly serial correlation, regression analysis, and (MANOVA). Findings suggest significant relationship between stress & attachment and alexithymia. In addition, secure attachment showed significant relationship with indicator of emotion subscale of alexithymia. In regression analysis three variables of education, stress and ambivalence attachment predicted alexithymia accounting for 32% of variance. There was no significant relationship between gender and perceived stress.
