Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between CHILD REARING STYLES and incidence of ANOREXIA NERVOSA in female adolescents between the age of 14-17 in Esfahan city. The sample of this study was consisting 53 female adolescents and their parents which were selected through purposeful sampling. The adolescents filled Minnesota Eating Behavior Surveey (MEBS) and their parents filled child rearing questionnaire of Baum Rind.The results firstly showed that there is a significant positive relationship between democratic style of parents and ANOREXIA NERVOSA among female adolescents. Second, there is a significant negative relationship between autoritian style of parents and ANOREXIA NERVOSA between female adolescents.Third, no significant relationship between permissive style of parents and ANOREXIA NERVOSA was not found in female adolescents. So, we conclude that there is a relationship between CHILD REARING STYLES and incidence of ANOREXIA NERVOSA and its subscales in female adolescents.
