Abstract: 

LIS as a field of study has had a lot of debate from its origin to be counted as an academic discipline. This is because some people think that it is originally practice based; others suppose that technology has greatly affected its identity. The author believes that the approach is not correct. It is not accurate to think that LIS is a discipline founded by library as a place, whereas the concept of LIS, and then as a task, responds to the real information needs of people. Anyhow, the author argues that all human disciplines are interdisciplinary in action, because man is multi aspectual in theory and practice, and LIS is like other disciplines. Thus, every field of study must be counted a discipline first, then interact with other disciplines in practice.

Abstract: 

One of the issues in educational systems is the use of «interdisciplinary approach”. Interdisciplinary studies are intending to integrate, combine and interact the knowledge and skills in various related fields, which have been put to frequent use to enhance the understanding of studied issues from every possible angle, develop the ability to fully analyze matters, provoke critical thought, encourage creativity and so on. On the other hand, philosophy of education as a one of the fields of human knowledge deals with these concepts. Successful development of interdisciplinary approach occurs when the results enjoy validity and the approach itself reflects understanding of the issues and presents realistic viable solutions. In other words, interdisciplinary approach is considered to be successful along with the efficient use of the experience, knowledge, skills, and approaches of the related fields. This article employing the analytical–descriptive method tries to investigate how and in what areas philosophy of education can be integrated into other fields of study (theoretical or practical), given the use of the interdisciplinary approach. Since the philosophy of education is discussed as the core of most humanities disciplines, knowledge areas such as linguistics, psychology, sociology, art and religion have been touched with the help of a deductive approach. The findings indicate that given the complex nature of human beings and the extent of education, dealing with issues of the humanities is out of the scope of one particular discipline and therefore, using an interdisciplinary approach is essential.

Abstract: 

Imam Sadiq University was established as a non-governmental academic institution in Iran in 1982 aiming at combining certain branches of Humanities with Islamic studies. In this article the author tries to evaluate the success and failure of declared aims of the ISU founders to make Islamic Studies not only relevant to the needs of contemporary societies but rather an integrated part of academic discipline. This paper is an attempt to introduce this innovation in combining Islamic studies with other academic subjects, namely, Political Sciences, Management, Economics, Law and Communications at ISU and tries to explore the challenges facing this endeavor.

Abstract: 

The goal of this paper is to investigate implications of cognitive science as an interdisciplinary study for educating philosophy of mind. Cognitive science with respect to unified investigation of the mind (UIM), based on its methodology, has created new possibilities in educational planning of philosophy of mind while applying new methods and techniques to teaching. Epistemological assumptions were analyzed to reveal the pedagogic innovation of cognitive science in philosophy of mind instruction. This analysis shows that teaching philosophy of mind should involve both knowledge and skills. Also, it could be an opportunity to take interdisciplinary approach for designing heterogeneous study groups for diversity of competencies and differences of philosophy of mind students. As such, in the UIM, it is argued, with the help of several educational resources, nonlinear problem solving could be utilized; besides explanation that has been usual in philosophy tradition, it is possible to enrich learning experiences of students based on computational simulation and empirical studies (e. g. neuroscience).

Abstract: 

Academic interdisciplinary sciences require their own standards of excellence. The purpose of this study is to design and develop evaluation quality indicators of academic interdisciplinary sciences by applying descriptive and analytical methods. In this regard, firstly, conceptual aspects and the basic components and principles of Academic Interdisciplinary Sciences are identified. Accordingly, appropriate factors, criteria and indicators are developed. The statistical population of the research consists of documents in accessible databases and the research sample is specified through purposeful sampling method. The results indicate that the evaluation of academic interdisciplinary sciences should include five conceptual dimensions: multi-faceted issues, interdisciplinary insights, adhering to integrative process, Interdisciplinary understanding and interdisciplinary structure. Meanwhile it should also pay attention to five main factors: objectives, curriculum, teaching- learning process, faculty and management. Accordingly, in order to evaluate the quality of Academic Interdisciplinary Sciences, 5 factors, 14 criteria and 59 indicators are identified and designed in this study.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study is an investigation of the factors affecting entrepreneurship in sport from the point of view of experts in this field. This study is a descriptive_analytic one and was conducted as a survey and statistical sample consisted of 64 subjects including top managers and sport management professors at physical education organization. Data is collected by research designed questionnaire. Its reliability (a=.95) is obtained after its validity confirmation (by professors). In this article the most important factors affecting sport entrepreneurship, both as an interdisciplinary field in the world, are studied. Initially, infrastructures are identified for entrepreneurial opportunities in sports and related problems become known so that identifying factors for social, cultural, and economical development to entrepreneurs will be a smooth path, because sport entrepreneurship, given its effective roles in business development, welfare, health development, and participation in various aspects of society, can also play a crucial role in the development of the country.Finally, some solutions for developing entrepreneurial sport are introduced.
