Background and Objective: Hypertension is one of the most common noncommunicable diseases and one of the most important health problems in the world, which can be prevented and controlled at the same time. The theory of planned behavior is one of the important theories that explain the main process of accepting health behaviors. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior on self-care behaviors of pre-hypertension patients referred to hospitals affiliated to Zahedan University of Medical Sciences. Materials and Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental study that was performed on 120 pre-hypertension patients in Zahedan in 1399. Sampling by method as available sample selection and divided into intervention (n = 60) and control (n = 60) groups. 6 training sessions were held for the intervention group and no intervention was performed in the control group. Data were collected before the educational intervention, immediately after the educational intervention, and three months after it, using a questionnaire appropriate to the constructs of the theory of planned behavior. Results: The mean age of participants was 47/03±, 6/18, of which 60 were male and 60 were female. In the pre-intervention and post-intervention stages, the mean score of knowledge from 21/15±, 1/97 to 23/05±, 1/54 and attitude from 39/90±, 5/98 to 45/35±, 1/43, perceived behavioral control from 44/28±, 4/58 to 49/48±, 1/42, subjective norms from 40/90±, 4/08 to 44/40±, 1/76 and behavioral intention from 41/90±, 5/93 and the behavior from 42/96±, 3/39 to 46/61±, 1/83 increased and this difference was statistically significant (P<0/001),However, no significant difference was observed in the control group. Conclusion: Educational intervention based on the theory of planned behavior can be effective in improving self-care behaviors in patients with pre-hypertension.

Background and Objective: A significant proportion of spinal cord injuries and physical-motor disabilities are caused by road traffic crashes. The aim of this study was to explore the lived experiences of people with disability due to traffic accidents. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological approach. The participants were a purposive sample of physical-motor disabled people due to road traffic injuries referred to the rehabilitation centers in East Azerbaijan, Iran. Data were collected using individual in-depth interviews and analyzed with a thematic analysis including holistic, selective and detailed approaches. Results: The main theme extracted from the experience of the participants was “, captive of destiny”,with three sub-themes including ‘, surrender of fate’, , ‘, living behind the fence’,and ‘, drowning in disability and need’, . Accordingly, participants considered themselves as the victims of destiny and believed living with disability is like living behind the fences of loneliness, frustration, regret, fear of future, pity and inefficiency. Conclusion: This study revealed that spinal cord disability imposed irreversible restrictions on the participants’,lives, so that as dependent people, they needed support from others and, were desperate to recover their lost power, found them in the fate prison. Social support and empowerment of these people to overcome disability can improve their mental health and help them return to a normal life.

Background and Objective: One of the effective factors in improving the psychological state of students is positive thinking. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing positive thinking behavior based on the theory of planned behavior in students. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 632 undergraduate students using multistage sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22 and inferential statistics (Chi-square, Pearson correlation, One-Way ANOVA, Independent samples t-test, linear regression). Results: The mean (±,standard deviation) of positive thinking was 20. 28 (±,3. 29). According to the results, 60% of students had high positive thinking, 28% had moderate positive thinking and 2% had weak positive thinking. Results of linear regression showed that attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intention, and positive thinking behavior were able to predict 26% of the variances for positive thinking scale, and constructs of perceived behavioral control and attitude had the most impact on predicting positive thinking (P<0. 001). Conclusion: Based on the results, the theory of planning behavior can be used as an appropriate theory for conducting educational and interventions programs in the field of positive thinking. Also, constructs of perceived behavioral control and attitude had the most impact on predicting students' positive thinking, and it is necessary to pay more attention to these issues in educational programs.
