Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the structural relationships of psychological capital and self-determination with test anxiety with respect to the mediating role of academic engagement and hardiness. Method: A correlational design was administered. The statistical population of this study was all high school students in Semnan in the 2019 academic year among which 857 students were selected using a randomised cluster sampling method. All participants completed the research tools including: Ahvaz Test Anxiety Inventory, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, Self-determination Inventory, Academic Engagement Scale, and a Hardiness Questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS and LISREL software and structural equation modeling. Results: The latent variables of psychological capital and self-determination, academic engagement and hardiness had markers. The findings of the measurement model showed that all marker variables were significantly loaded on their latent structure. The results of the structural model also showed that the variables of psychological capital, self-determination, hardiness and academic engagement had significantly negative and directive effects on the test anxiety. Also, psychological capital and self-determination showed a significant negative indirective effect on test anxiety with mediating role of academic involvement and hardiness. Overall this model could predict 0. 49 of the test anxiety variance. Conclusion: The role of predictor variables can be used to control and the reduce test anxiety according to the obtained results.
