Abstract:

This study is the first to characterize and provide a comparative physiological account of wild population female Sobaity sea bream in spawning season. Interestingly in Sparidentex hasta average of Na+, Cl-, Ca+2 and K+ were highest to lowest concentrations. Otherwise level was higher than globulin and albumin. K+ concentration correlated negatively with Na+/k+ (P<0.01) and Ca+2 correlated positively with Na+ K+ (P<0.01). We established serum parameters values for the S. hasta, which can be used as interpretative data obtained from this species in Persian Gulf. Therefore, values reported here will be useful for the early detection, identification and monitoring of diseases and sub lethal conditions in this species.

Abstract:

Pigments used in aquaculture are of a great variety and hence a lot of work has been done in this area. These pigments are responsible for a major role in the market for ornamental fish. Labyrent ornamental fishes are highly regarded due to the high strength, beauty, high diversity and compatibility with other fishes. This paper studied 210 Trichopterus with the average weight of 5 gr. in 3 treatments and 3 replications and randomly assigned to 21 aquariums. Each aquarium fish fed with Mallow and Coriander by the rage of 4% of the body weight in various concentrations by specific densities of 2%, 4%, and 6% in 60 days. Physicochemical properties of water including temperature, dissolved oxygen and PH were determined according to the standard. Experimental design done randomly with statistical analysis, using one-way analysis of variance and Dunken multiple comparison test. Results showed that the application of higher skin carotenoid in mallow 6%, causes significant difference in control treatment (P<0.05), however no significant correlation was observed between other treatments of mallow and Coriander (P>0.05). Moreover, the study showed that natural pigments have a positive effect on the variability of the colour of gold gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus).

Abstract:

In this research, Polychaeta worms in earthen ponds of shrimp culture (Litopenaeus vannamei ) were studied in Guater area. Sampling was done monthly from July to September 2012 by Ekman grab in 4 ponds which that have 3 stations and 3 repeat in guater area. While studying dense Polychaeta areas, 3genera and 1 species belonging to Nereidae family were identified. The identified genera and species were Nereis sp., Ceratonereis erythraeensis and Gymnonereis sp. The highest diversity and density were respectively Gymnonereis sp. with a frequency of 93.03%, Ceratonereis erythraeensis with a frequency of 4.97% and Nereis sp. with a frequency of 1.98%. The results of analyzing one-way ANOVA showed a significant difference (p<0.05) between the abundance of Polychaeta in different months. Physical and chemical factors such as pH, temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen were also examined. The analysis of aggregate deposits of silt-clay with the range of 81-98.08 showed the minimum value in the pool incoming parts in September and the maximum amount was for the outgoing parts of pools in July. The results showed that species diversity changed from the incoming parts to the outgoing parts of the pools with the amounts of 0.175 to 0.043 and the dominance was increased from 0.017 to 0.20. According to the numbers of Shannon index (H) the results indicated that Polychaeta worms had a low diversity and frequency in the studied area.

Abstract:

One of the important issues in restructuring reserves kutum (Rutilus frisii kutum) is access to good quality broodstock. The main purpose of this study was comparision of some of biometrics, hematological and reproductive indexes in female breeders of kutum in Shirood and Tajan rivers from 2006 to 2008. For Purpose, 30 female breeders (in each period propagation) were sampled from two rivers and were evaluated for biometric, hematological and reproductive indicators. Results showed fish that migrated to Tajan river had better specific indicators compare to fish migrated to Shirood river. Fish weight, ovarian weight, and number of eggs per gram of female breeder in Tajan river had significant differences compare with Shirood river. Results showed the amount of organic matter and moisture in oocyte breeder did not have inhibitory effects on the process of hatching. There was no significant difference between hematological indexes in two river breeders (per year). Based on the obtained results, it can be declared that kutum breeders in the Tajan river, in propagation and stocks enhancement, had better quality and quantity (in fertilization and larval survival rates) compare to Shirood river.

Abstract:

One of the major problems in aquaculture is to achieve a balance between fish growth rate and optimal use of fish food. Successful rearing of fishes depends on food availability for nutrition to guarantee the health and growth of larval stages. A compensatory growth is a phase of rapid growth following feed restriction in such critical situations which it is observed in fishes. This experiment was conducted with common carp fingerlings (average weight of 0.668±0.074 g and 2.85±0.181 cm) for 6 weeks on 4 groups and 3 replications were as follows: Group 1: 6 weeks full feeding. Group 2: One week starvation+a week feeding with commercial food, Group 3: One week starvation+a week feeding with 103 colony forming units, Group 4: One week starvation+a week feeding with 106 colony forming units and Group 5: One week starvation+a week feeding with 109 colony forming units. Feeding rate of 10% based on the total weight of the fish was on. The results showed that there was a significant differences between groups in body weight and body length of carp fingerlings (P<0.05). The highest weight gain and length belonged to group 1 with six weeks full feeding. Results also showed that there is a significant differences in all of the groeth factors among groups (P<0.05). Results showed that starvation cause a decrease in growth of carp fingerlings but in compensatory growth use of the yeast Saccharomyces cervisiae made a better growth after starvation period.

Abstract:

This study describes the length-weight (LWR), length-length (LLR) relationship and condition factor in the farmed rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss). The number of 100 three years old male and female brood stock were collected from Research center of genetic and breeding of coldwater fishers, Yasouj, Iran and they were anesthetized for measurement of morphometric characters. The length and weight were measured using measuring board digital balance respectively. The coefficient of determination r2 as well as correlation (r) coefficient of length-weight and length-length relationship was high between the two parameters in male, female and combined sexes. The b value was below 3.0 in both female and male and showed an allometric growth pattern. The average of Fulton's condition factor in male and female was 1.3210 and 1.1926 respectively. The present investigation indicated that the growth rate is quite satisfactory provide the initial data on length- weight, length- length and condition factor of farmed rainbow trout broodstocks in Iran.

Abstract:

In this study, the effects of the herb fennel Foeniculum vulgare on the growth and maturation of oocytes in the female three spot gourami was studied. For this perpose, 60 fish with an average weight of 2- 3 g consists of 6 groups of four treatment groups for Fennel (10, 20, 30 and 50 mg/ kg) and two controls groups (control 1 received 20 microliters of methanol and 2 non-injected control) were studied. Twentieth day after the end of the experiments fishes were anesthetized and ovarian tissues was removed and weighed. The structure of the ovary histology and gonad osomatic index, in fish treated and control groups were compared. Histological results showed the influence of fennel on ovarian and oocyte maturation compared with the control groups. Significant differences in treatment of GSI treated with Fennel was observed compared with control groups. (P<0.001) in terms of the diameter and number of oocytes were also significant differences between treatments Fennel was observed, compared with the control groups. (P<0.001) that the high dose of fennel, the difference was more significant.
