Introduction: Health anxiety is characterized by persistent and severe health concerns and is an important concern for clinical professionals. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the affective and emotional composite temperament model and intolerance of uncertainty with health anxiety symptoms in medical students. Methods: This study was a correlational-predictive study. The statistical population of this study consisted of students of Kerman university of medical sciences, among whom 211 students were selected by convenience sampling. The research instruments included the health anxiety questionnaire, the affective and emotional composite temperament model scale, and the intolerance of uncertainty scale. The data were analyzed by SPSS software using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Results: The results of Pearson correlation coefficient showed that among the components of the affective and emotional composite temperament model, depression affective temperament, cyclothymic affective temperament, obsessive affective temperament, and irritability affective temperament and also anger emotional temperament, sensitivity the emotional temperament and the fear emotional temperament with health anxiety had significant positive relationship with health anxiety. However, there was a significant negative relationship between emotional hyperthymic and health anxiety. There was also a significant positive relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and health anxiety. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the depression affective temperament, obsessive affective temperament, anger emotional temperament, sensitivity emotional temperament and fear emotional temperament and also intolerance of uncertainty can positively and significantly predict health anxiety in medical students. The results also showed that intolerance of uncertainty can positively and significantly predict health anxiety in medical students. Conclusions: The affective and emotional composite temperament model and intolerance of uncertainty can explain the symptoms of health anxiety. Therefore, by providing therapeutic interventions based on modulating the emotional composite temperament and reducing intolerance of uncertainty can prevent or control the symptoms of health anxiety.

Abstract:

Introduction: The mother has an important role in the development and increase of child behavioral problems, therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the role of psychological flexibility in parenting and maternal depression in predicting the symptoms of conduct disorder in adolescents. Methods: In this descriptive (correlation) study, which was conducted in the academic year 20192020, 440 mothers-children from Tehran, Hamedan and Boldaji were present. Psychological flexibility in parenting questionnaire (Greene, Field, Fargo, and Twohigm, 2015), depression, anxiety and stress questionnaire (Lovibond, and Lovibond, 1995) and child behavioral checklist (Achenbach, and Rescorla, 2001) were used to collect data. Data were analyzed with SPSS-20 software using Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression. Results: Data analysis showed that the symptoms of conduct disorders in adolescents have a positive relationship with maternal depression (p=0. 001) and negatively related to maternal psychological flexibility in parenting (p=0. 001). Also, maternal depression and two components of psychological flexibility in parenting (acceptance and self as context) are able to predict the symptoms of conduct disorder in adolescents (p <0. 01). Conclusions: Given that maternal depression and psychological flexibility in parenting can predict the symptoms of child behavior disorder, it is suggested that mothers play a positive role in reducing the symptoms of their adolescent's conduct disorder by participating in individual or group counseling sessions to reduce depression and improve psychological flexibility in parenting.

Abstract:

Introduction: Eating disorders are a group of disorders characterized by persistent eating disorders and related behaviors that cause changes in food intake or absorption and are also significantly associated with physical or psychological health damage. The aim of this study was the effectiveness of compassion-focused therapy on psychological distress, self-esteem, and perceived social support in people with binge eating disorders. Methods: The method of the present study was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up with the control group. The statistical population of this study includes all people with overeating disorders who were referred to counseling centers (Avaye Kherad, Sahar, Avaye Zandegi, Rahnemood, and Nedaye Baran) in Sari city during the call in 2019 (N = 300). Then, among the 300 applicants who registered in this call, first the Eating Disorder Diagnostic Scale (Stice et al., 2001) was conducted and the diagnostic interview was conducted based on DMS-5, then according to the entry and exit criteria, 30 of them The final sample title was selected. These numbers were selected based on the opinion of researchers (Gall, Gall, and Borg (2003) and Delavar (2020)) who in experimental research identified 15 people suitable for each group. To collect data, the Diagnostic Scale of Eating Disorders, Psychological Distress Questionnaire, Self-Imagination Questionnaire, and Perceived Social Support Questionnaire were used. The data were analyzed by repeated-measures analysis of variance using SPSS-23. Results: The results of the analysis showed that compassion-based therapy significantly and with high statistical power significantly reduced psychological distress (p <0. 001) in the experimental group, while self-perception (p <0. 001) and Increased the perception of social support (p <0. 001) in them, which was stable until the followup stage. Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that compassion-based treatment can be effective in reducing depression, anxiety and stress in people with overeating. Compassion-based therapy also increased self-esteem and perceptions of social support. It seems that one of the most important reasons for overeating is anxiety, lack of self-image, and lack of understanding of social support, which in turn causes depression and overeating, therefore, by teaching compassion to oneself, it is possible to prevent overheating of these people to a large extent. Given that the critical time of overeating and obesity in adolescence and school, it is recommended that workshops be conducted in schools to prevent obesity and its problems, and in schools the skills of self-friendship, emotion, self-confidence, non-self-humiliation and Teach mutual understanding so that we can take effective steps to prevent these problems in adulthood.

Abstract:

Introduction: Sexual relations act as a background for reinforcing emotions and feelings between people and could provide the means of strengthening family ties. The present study was conducted to determine the role of emotion regulation strategies and spiritual well-being in predicting compulsive sexual behavior. Methods: The study was based on a descriptive correlational method. Statistical population consisted of all married men in Ardabil city (Zones one and two) in 2020. 110 men were selected as the statistical sample using the convenience sampling by referring to public places. For data collection the emotion regulation strategies (Gross, John, 2003), spiritual well-being (Daaleman, Frey, 2004) and compulsive sexual behavior (Efrati, Mikulincer, 2018) were used. Research data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression using SPSS18 software. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between emotion regulation strategies (Reappraisal-0. 47, Suppression 0. 41) and spiritual well-being-0. 59 with compulsive sexual behavior in married men. Also, the results of multiple regression showed that emotion regulation strategies and spiritual well-being can predict the compulsive sexual behavior of married men by 0. 44 (p<0. 05). Conclusions: Married mens' compulsive sexual behavior is predictable with emotion regulation strategies and spiritual well-being. It is suggested that psychologists and health professionals pay more attention to the role of these variables in reducing the compulsive sexual behavior of Married men.
