Abstract: 

The present research aimed to study the psychometric properties of the flow Meta-cognitions scale according to classical and item- response theories. To this end, 296 students were selected by cluster sampling method and responded to the flow Meta cognitions scale, Meta cognition and positive Meta cognition and Meta emotion Questionnaires. Conformity factor analysis, general score-question relation and reliability analysis were used to study the psychometric properties scale. In addition, the Samijima graded response model was applied to determine the fitness of data and analysis. Factor analysis showed that the scale included two factors and an appropriate propriety indicator. There was a positive and significant relation between the flow Meta cognitions questionnaire with the Meta cognition (0.15) and the positive Meta cognition (0.36). According to Cronbach's alpha, the scale reliability was 0.749 for the belief that flow Fosters achievement and 0.692 for the confidence in the ability to self-regulate flow subscales. The data related to the responses had a suitable fitness with the Samijima model and the test awareness function in the range of -3 to+1 was a characteristic continuum. According to the findings, it can be concluded that the Persian form of flow Meta cognitions questionnaire has acceptable psychometric properties among Iranian student community and it can be used as a valid instrument for scientific research.

Abstract: 

The aim of this research is designing a model of performance management with an emphasis on performance evaluation of higher education. In the first stage of the study, the approaches and models of performance management are discussed and, through a thematic method, the content extracted from the scientific literature at two-levels- "organization" and "people"- was classified. In the second stage, 27 variables inferred, in form of a questionnaire which was dispersed among a sample of 132 people who were selected from a 210 population of the country's planning system, applying persons. The collected data were analyzed using LISREL software. The results indicate that all 16 persons envisaged in the framework of the above-mentioned variables- as variables that must be considered in the design of performance management model- were approved. Also, according to the absolute value of the t-statistic for all the relationships between variables greater than the critical value of 1.96 and all the factor loadings greater than 0.5 obtained in standard mode, none of the relationships were rejected and all variables and relationships were confirmed and the initial version of the research was approved.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study is to evaluate the quality of the academic life of Shahid Beheshti University students. The study is regarded as an applied research in terms of its objective and the data were collected through a survey. The resources were studied and semi-structured exploratory interviews were conducted so as to determine the essential components of the quality of academic life. The sampling was purposeful and the sample included 24 graduate students. A researcher-made questionnaire about the quality of the academic life was applied and its validity was approved by the professors of the educational sciences and its reliability was estimated at 0.94 by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Our population contained all Shahid Beheshti University students. Purposeful random sampling method was employed and 367 students formed the sample. To analyze the data, statistical methods (t-test single-sample multivariate analysis) were used. The results show that the quality of the academic life of Shahid Beheshti University is not favorable. All components of the quality of academic life-including the curriculum, research, sports and cultural services, medical services and counseling, scientific equipment, financial services, food, student accommodation, social cohesion, and the progress tracks- are not of sufficient quality. And only two Factors- faculty members and the general satisfaction- are favorable. Also, except the two components (equipment, research and development path) significant differences were not observed in the parameters of the quality of life at the different levels of education (bachelor, master and doctorate).

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the inventory of the wisdom development in students of Semnan University.A total of 607 students of Semnan University participated in this study who filled the wisdom development questionnaire, psychological well-being questionnaires and mental health Keyes questionnaire. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the data fits with an eight-factor model. The internal consistency of the inventory was high. Autonomy, inspirational engagement and self-knowledge; being purposeful in life, inspirational engagement and judgment; self-acceptance and judgment; age and all in subscales wisdom development had significant relationships. Emotional well-being, emotional management and inspirational engagement; psychological well-being, skills and life knowledge, inspirational engagement, emotional management and self- knowledge had significant relationships. The average score of professors surpassed students in all dimension. Boys' scores in inspirational engagement and emotional management were meaningfully higher than girls. Score of dimensions has increased with higher grade level. The wisdom development inventory is a valid and reliable instrument.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study is to explain the characteristics of the desirable evaluation of elementary language teaching curriculum from teachers’ points of view. The research design was based on mixed methods. In the quantitative part, the statistical population included all of elementary teachers in Kerman city of whom a total of 350 teachers were selected as the sample. In the qualitative part, the sample consisted of 30 top teachers of the province at the elementary level. A researcher-made questionnaire and an unstructured interview method were used in the quantitative and qualitative parts respectively. The reliability was estimated at 0.91 using composite reliability via PLS software and the convergent validity was estimated at 0.52. The main results of this study indicated that teachers prioritize objective test in children language teaching evaluation, while the talent and achievement tests receive the least priority.Also, the time-consuming nature of teachers’ written activities, such as recording their observations and managing the workbooks and filling up the evaluation forms was among the most important reasons of the weaknesses of language teaching curriculum evaluation from teachers’ points of view. On the other hand, decreasing students’ anxiety in language teaching classrooms, and also the interactions of students with each other and with teacher in language teaching curriculum were the most important reasons of the strengths of language teaching curriculum evaluation from teachers’ points of view.

Abstract: 

This study aimed to identify the students’ attitude toward cheating and the rate of cheating among them as well as the role of the implemented curriculum on it. The researcher obtained the data for the study from a sample of 153 girl students in a high school of Mahvellat city, who were selected based on the random sampling. The instruments used in this study were: (1) attitude towards cheating questionnaire, made by the researcher, (2) educational environment questionnaire that was developed by Wood Ruff and colleagues (1997) and (3) perceived evaluation questionnaire that was developed by Alkharusi (2009). The results confirm that a correlation of 0.88 was observed between the attitude to cheating and committing it. The results of Pearson correlation indicated that there is a negative correlation between students' perceptions of teaching methods, teacher, learning space, learner's academic self-efficacy, mastery appraisal with attitude toward cheating. Also, there is a positive correlation between performance- oriented appraisal and attitude toward cheating. The results of simultaneous Regression indicated that predictor variables can explain 86% of the changes in the ‘attitude toward cheating’ variable synthetically. Among the predictor variables, two variables of mastery-oriented and performance-oriented appraisals can predict the positive attitude toward cheating, but other predictor variables cannot predict this attitude. Also, the findings indicate that the mark of students’ attitude toward cheating is greater than the average value of questionnaire and 96.1 percent of students cheat in the exams and only 3.9 percent of them did not commit cheating.

Abstract: 

This study aims to investigate the role of achievement objectives in self-regulation among the students of the faculty of nursing and midwifery. The population of this study included the students of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. According to Morgan’s Table, 200 samples were selected through single-stage cluster sampling. The research method is descriptive and correlational, based on structural equation modeling. Data was collected using a Pintrich & Digreet strategic self-regulation questionnaire as well as a Midglee goal orientation questionnaire. All questionnaires were designed to use Likert’s five point scale. The reliability of the self-regulation questionnaire was 95% and the reliability of the goal orientation questionnaire was 87%. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a number of experts and specialists in the management section and also through the confirmatory factor analysis. To analyze the data obtained from the questionnaires at the inferential statistics section, Pearson’s correlation test, Stepwise regression and structural equation modeling were employed. The results showed the direct positive and meaningful effect of goal orientation on student’s self-regulation strategies and also its effective role in increasing the self-regulation.
