Introduction: Nurses due to poor ergonomic conditions and postures are at risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) more than other jobs. This study aimed to carry out the ergonomic risk assessment of MSDs using the Quick Exposure Check (QEC) technique among the nurses working in educational hospitals of Sari city. Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 400 nurses were selected from educational hospitals of Sari city using the stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Nordic questionnaire of MSDs and quick exposure check technique (QEC). Data were analyzed using Chi- square, t-test and Pearson's correlation with the SPSS 18 software. Results: The results showed that low back disorders (55.8%) were the most prevalent disorders among nurses. The results of the QEC technique showed a high and very high risk of exposure to MSDs in 84.8% of the nurses. A significant relationship was found between MSDs and total risk of QEC (P=0.001). Also, there was a significant relationship between work experience, sex, age and body mass index with MSDs (P<0.05).Conclusions: In this study, the prevalence of MSDs was relatively high among the nurses and the most important reason was awkward postures during the work. So, any intervention for preventing MSDs should be focused on promoting the body posture during work and ergonomic interventions should be performed to reduce the risk level in the units with a higher risk.

Introduction: Non- adherence to treatment is known as a major problem in hemodialysis patients. Using appropriate educational methods, which with interpersonal communication try to meet the needs of the patient, may be helpful in this regard. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of using teach-back education on the treatment adherence of patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD).Methods: This randomized clinical trial study was conducted on 90 hemodialysis patients with ESRD referred to Sina Hospital in Tehran, during 2015-2016. The patients were divided into two equal groups. In the intervention group, in addition to routine training, the teach-back method education was performed in four areas of hemodialysis, medication, fluid intake and diet for 45 min. In the control group, training was only as a routine training. Treatment adherence was evaluated in 3 steps including pre-test, post-test (7 days after the intervention), and fallow-up (30 days after the intervention), using the ESRD adherence questionnaire (ESRD-AQ). Age, sex, educational level and duration of hemodialysis were identified in both groups. Results: The mean scores of treatment adherence in the intervention group in both post-test and follow-up were significantly higher than those of the control group (P=0.001), so that 28.8% and 22.1% of the changes related to treatment adherence were due to the intervention in the post- test and follow-up stages, respectively. Conclusions: This study shows that the teach- back method education may lead to treatment adherence in four areas of hemodialysis, medication, fluid intake limitation and dietary restrictions. This education method is suitable in patients with low educational levels and different durations of hemodialysis.

Introduction: By entering old age, changes occur in the skeletal-muscular, vestibular, sensory- visual, and somatic systems when the physiological systems involved in balance. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine the effect of water resistance combined training on balance and fall risk in elderly women over 60 years in Tehran. Methods: This study was a quasi- experimental study. The study population consisted of all elderly women over 60 years in Tehran. Twenty- four women were selected and randomly divided into the experimental and control groups. The training group followed an 8-week aquatic exercise program (three sessions per week) while the control group continued their daily routines. To measure the static balance, the Sharpened Romberg test and to measure the dynamic balance and fall risk the Berg Balance Scale were used. The data were analyzed using the dependent and independent t-test by the SPSS 19 software. Results: The results showed a significant difference in total mean scores of static and dynamic balance after the training period in the intervention group than the control group (P£0.05); so that the balance after the training program improved and risk of falling was reduced. Conclusions: According to the results of this study, water resistance combined training and a comprehensive fitness program in water due to the low risk nature and providing conditions to challenge the neuromuscular system can be helpful to improve balance and reduce the risk of fall in women aged 60-75 years.

Introduction: Patients after a heart surgery and spending a recovery period at home need to have an early cardiac rehabilitation program. The first phase of cardiac rehabilitation program is well known for improving long- term health of patients with heart surgery. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of the first phase of cardiac rehabilitation education on self- efficacy of men and women after the heart surgery. Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted on 30 patients (14 females and 16 males) underwent the coronary artery bypass surgery. The patients were selected and randomly divided into two groups of men and women. Theoretical education and exercises of the first phase of rehabilitation were performed step by step under the supervision of a trained person using the pamphlets and educational booklets. Then, the self-efficacy questionnaire was completed in three stages before the intervention, at discharge time and one month after discharge by men and women. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance with repeated measures by the SPSS 16 software. Results: Results of the analysis of variance showed that the total score of self- efficacy significantly increased in the two groups (men and women) compared to before the intervention (P<0.001). However, no significant difference was found in the total score of self- efficacy between the two groups (P=0.482).Conclusions: The implementation of the first phase of cardiac rehabilitation improves the self- efficacy of men and women undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. This study reveals the individual capabilities of male and female patients in recovery period after the surgery. Also the findings show that their intensive participation in physical activity can increase self- efficacy and reduce the need for help.
