Abstract: 

Dear Editor At the golden time to be happy and communicate with peers, children with cancer are isolated due to several physical and psychological problems. The more attention of families to eliminate of physical complications following chemotherapy, is cause of their ignorance to psychological problems of children. Because of the need for isolation, these children have to avoid from crowded places. Therefore, they will be pulled towards depression unconsciously. Having effective communication between these children and their nurses and social workers could greatly help reduce their depression The main objective of this letter is to attract reader’ s attention towards the psychological aspects of these children, understanding their mental suffering and try to heal it. Understand the hopes and dreams of children with cancer as a part of palliative care can help the treatment procedure and death calmly. In a research in Taiwan, 37 children aged 4-16 were asked to identify their three main wishes. Three-quarters of them wished to go home from the hospital and 90% wished to be cured (1). In this study, for the first time, we evaluated the main wishes of children at Golestan province, north of Iran, 2015. Fifty three children with cancer were invited to write their wishes and also the preschoolers were asked to tell their wishes to their nurse or parents. The results showed that children aged 3-6 wished for objects like tablet, treatment and being free from isolation. Children aged 7-12 years mostly wished for tablets or bicycles, then treatment and becoming police or doctor. Teenagers aged 13-16 years also wanted tablets or bicycles and going to a pilgrimage. In all three groups one of the common wishes was the advent of Imam Zaman (aj). In total, the wish to have electronic toys was prevailed (100% for all groups). In this project after collecting the wishes of children with cancer, their wishes were proposed in a Telegram group chat under “ Heavenly wishes” and in a short time with the help of donors, the wishes of 46 children were granted. Current program is a collaborative and successful interdisciplinary activity among pediatric oncology nurses, social worker, doctors, students and donors to respond to the needs of sick children.

Abstract: 

Background and Objective: One of the most important periods for promoting health is the youth. According to importance of life style as an important aspects of health, this survey was done to evaluate the aspects of health-promoting life style in students. Methods: This survey was cross sectional and descriptive-analytic. Our population consists of 200 nursing students in Ramsar’ s Fatemezahra nursing college at 2016-2017. Our data was collected with a checklist that its validity and reliability was confirmed. Findings: The total mean score of healthy lifestyle was 96. 129± 20. 01. In this study students acquired the most score in responsibility for health which can be for their field of study and higher knowledge about health issues. There was a significant relationship between physical activity and gender and also between physical activity and residential site. Students which were in dormitory had less physical activity than students which live with family (P=0. 040) and friends (P=0. 009). Conclusion: The mean score of life style in dormitory students was in lower ranges, so it is essential for designing and executing standard educational interventions and different supporting systems in nutritional, recreational, cultural and welfare aspects.

Abstract: 

Background and Objective: According to recent studies, improvement of spiritual skills and applying religion in behavioral sciences will effect on mental health of humans. This study was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of teaching spiritual skills on absolution of third-grade female students in Babol’ s Mehre Sabz conservatory high school. Materials and Methods: This study used semi-experimental method and applied pre-test and post-test scheme with control group. The study population was the 34 third-grade high school students who were studying in Babol’ s Mehre Sabz Conservatory high school. The students were assigned into two groups by a two-stage method, namely the control group and the experimental group. The first group was an available sample of students of a conservatory high school, and the other was using the cluster-sampling method. The samples answered interpersonal absolution questionnaires as a pretest, and then, the spiritual skills educational Course was performed in 8 sessions for experimental group. In post-test stage, both groups had answered the questionnaire for one more time again. Data analysis carried out by using SPSS software and covariance test. Results: The results showed that the ratio of F (Fm=26. 7) that had been obtained for agent group is bigger than that of critical F (Fc=15. 4) by a confidence level and significance level of 95% and 0. 05, respectively. This shows the meaningful effect of teaching spiritual skills on interpersonal absolution in experimental group. Conclusion: Based on our findings, it can be concluded that teaching spiritual skills can be used as a suitable approach that aims to promote the interpersonal absolution among students.

Abstract: 

Background and Objective: Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) is an adverse effect of antipsychotic medication. Here, we described an atypical NMS case following treatment with clozapine, without the main clinical features (fever and rigidity) of NMS. Case report: This report described a rare case of NMS in a 49-year old male with schizophrenia, under treatment with 500mg/day clozapine since 5 months ago, and admitted for evaluation of altered mental status. Additional clinical findings included severe diaphoresis, fluctuating blood pressure and tachycardia. After diagnosis of NMS, treatment with supportive and pharmaco-therapeutic measures were immediately initiated, resulting in complete resolution of symptoms. He was discharged with 30mg aripiprazole daily and presents no side effects in 4 years of follow up. Conclusion: Although NMS can be easily recognized in typical presentation, but it could be consist of different types of onset, clinical findings and course, and also it can present a benign prognosis if recognized and treated early.

Abstract: 

Background and Objective: Mites are small arthropods with economical, medical and veterinary importance. Tyrophagus putrescentiae invade the fungal cultures and can lead to several damages in cultures. Thus, the aims of this study were to identify and control of mites in contaminated fungal cultures. Case Report: Mites were collected from contaminated fungal cultures in the mycology laboratory of mycology department in Babol University of Medical Sciences. Then, the collected mites were identified at the species level using valid diagnostic keys. Conclusion: T. putrescentiae is a detrimental pest which damages fungal cultures. Moreover it can lead to allergies. Therefore, preventive approaches are essential to minimize the pest infestations.
