Abstract: 

Introduction: the aim of this study is to evaluation and ranking the central libraries of comprehensive and industrial Universities affiliated to the ministry of science, research and technology. Methodology: the present study has been done in a descriptive-survey method. the population of this study is a comprehensive university that ranked number 1 through 40 and industrial universities that ranked number 1 to 10 in the Islamic World Sciences Citation Center in 2015-2016. These Universities were chosen Purposeful and Self – Selected Sample. Of the 50 selected libraries, 27 tended to participate in research and rank. Data collection tool was Researcher made questionnaire. Statistical methods include descriptive statistics to calculate the indices, Analytical Hierarchy process technique for index weights and criteria, and TOPSIS technique for rank. Finding: findings from the evaluation of academic library studies showed that the libraries are in the index of communication and cooperation, planning, service, availability, availability and management in a more desirable situation than facilities, budget, staff and resources. the results of Ranking show that the libraries of, Urmia University, Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences university and Shiraz university are ranked first to third, respectively. Shahid Bahonar and Bu-Ali Sina University are also ranked last. Conclusion: Urmia university library in the calculation of indices has the highest closeness to the solution of the positive idea and is ranked first in conformity with standards. Bu-Ali Sina University is located in the last place.

Abstract: 

Aim: The aim of this study was identify the needed elements in academic Textbooks’ s QR Code based on point of view of professors. Methodology: The methodology of this research is qualitative and it is as a kind of practical research. At first, Interviews with professors were done using a semi-structured questionnaire on the criteria for selecting a university textbook and the important criteria for insertion of a QR code. In order to analyze the interviews, thematic content analysis technique was used. Results: A total of 21 elements were identified using the analysis of professorial interviews for the most important criteria for choosing an academic textbook. The most important element which is known is the author of the book element. And the most important elements needed to select a university textbook in order to be present at the QR Book Code were a total of 43 elements. These elements are classified into five criteria of the book's author (7 elements), book publishing (10 elements), book appearance (9 elements), book content (14 elements), and the importance of the book in academic environment (3 elements). Originality: It seems that there is no research related to the subject of the QR code and academic text books. Most studies research on QR code in the library. Publishers of academic books can improve their marketing and distribution through the selection of the right elements through this research. However, consideration of the views of other stakeholders, such as librarians and users, is necessary for final conclusions.

Abstract: 

Objective: To investigate the effect of the downsizing of university libraries on the job satisfaction of Government Universities libraries staff in provincial centers. Methodology: This research is based on the purpose of the applied type, as a method of obtaining data from a descriptive survey type and in terms of the type of data collected by the questionnaire obtained is of a quantitative nature. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to measure the downsizing and a Minnesota standard questionnaire was used to measure job satisfaction. The research population consisted of 205 staff of government university libraries covered by the Ministry of Science in provincial centers. By calculating sample size and distributing questionnaires, 148 people returned the questionnaire. The analyzes of this research were done using descriptive and inferential statistics using one-sample T-test and Spearman correlation using SPSS and PLS software. Results: Data analysis showed that downsizing and job satisfaction among university librarians are in an unfavorable situation. Among the dimensions of downsizing: the change in the type of work and the change in structure do not affect the job satisfaction of the library staff, but the change in technology has a direct impact on library staff job satisfaction. Therefore, the hypothesis the impact downsizing on the job satisfaction of academic library staff is confirmed. Originality: This article is the result of an applied research work and has not previously been published in any other journal.

Abstract: 

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the role of professional development and work ethics, organizational commitment and tend to remain library staff was conducted. Methodology: This study is correlational using structural equation modeling. . Statistical population includes all 360 library staff among them 200 persons were selected using stratified random sampling. Morgan table was used to determine sample size. To collect the data, standard questionnaires were used. Structural equations model was used to analyze data. Findings: The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a positive relationship between professional development with commitment and tend to remain. There is also a positive relationship between professional ethics with commitment and tend to remain. Further analysis showed that professional ethics as a mediator in the relationship between professional development with commitment and tend to remain. Originalit: According to the findings professional development directly enhance organizational commitment and tend to remain is the staff. It also confirms the role of professional ethics, professional development has a effect of Indirect, positive and significant on organizational commitment and tend to remain. The results emphasize on necessity of reassessing the mediating role of Professional ethics on surveying the causal relation among Professional development and its consequences.

Abstract: 

Aim: The aim of this research is to recognize the types and causes of vandalism in academic libraries of governmental universities in Tehran from their librarians’ viewpoint. Method: The research method is survey and statistical population involved of all employed librarians in libraries of 10 governmental universities of Tehran. The viewpoints of 304 they by sampling method was simple random sampling and have been collected and surveyed through researcher-designed questionnaire. Findings: Vandalism in resources is greater than vandalism in buildings and equipment. On resources stealing, hiding and tearing of resources occur and this is common event for the books and magazines. On equipment and buildings most damage has been caused by writing on them, relocating poster, writing text on the wall and damage to equipment. Results: The causes of occurrence of vandalistic behavior can be divided into two groups: 1-The individual factors such as: inability to buy resources, frequent use of library resources and psychological problems. 2-Environmental factors such as: dissatisfaction of users from library services and the lack of multiple copies of resources. Originality: According to the studies, this research has been the first in the country to Survey vandalism in academic libraries of governmental universities in Tehran.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The main objective of the study was to identify and ranking the factors affecting optimal marketing services of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology. Methodology: Due to the nature of the study descriptive-survey method has been used. The populations of the study indicate all users of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology including 15825 persons that based on simple random sampling and with use of Krejcie and Morgan table, 380 persons were selected as the sample population. For data collection researcher made questionnaire consisting of 57 items has been used. For data analysis and hypotheses testing ANOVA test has been used with the help of SPSS 22 version. Findings: Based on the result of factor analysis and scores obtained, 9 factors identified that have influence on optimal marketing of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology. The identified factors were respectively: promotion, product, physical evidence, communications, price, infrastructure, accessibility, persons and location. Originality: Considering the importance of marketing services in libraries and information centers, and since there has not been and specific research on the marketing of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology services, the present research has necessary innovation and can find solutions for this center and similar centers.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the use of customer-oriented marketing mix in academic libraries among audiences of Razi University libraries and Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences. Methodology: The present study is applied in a survey method. To describe and analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics (mann_whitey and t) have been used. The research community was a member of the Library of the Faculty of Razi University of Medical Sciences, with a total of 16493 members of the Razi Faculty Library and the Schools of the Faculty of Medicine. The sample size was calculated using the Cochran formula, which obtained 374 people. Reliability is measured using Cronbach's alpha, which has acceptable reliability (r=%89). Finding: The findings of the research showed that the components of expected customer expectations (mean of 62. 3) and customer cost (mean of 1. 16) were better than the medical university and the components of customer comfort (average 3. 41) and the customer relationship (mean of 1. 91) is better than the medical university. The results of the research questionnaire test showed that the status of the medical universities' libraries was better than the libraries of Razi University with the average ranking of 170/41 in terms of using the combination of customer-oriented marketing with an average rating of 208/15. Authenticity: The results of this research can provide information that provides the basis for better planning of managers to improve the level of academic libraries.
