Background and Aims The present research aimed to determine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on death anxiety in women with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Methods This was an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design. In total, 30 women were selected by simple random sampling method from those referring to hospitals as well as MS and Spinal Association. The samples were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Both groups were tested in terms of death anxiety before and after the intervention (8 sessions for 1 hour) using the Death Anxiety Scale (DAS). Results The Paired Samples t-test and Independent Samples test results demonstrated a significant reduction of death anxiety at the posttest stage (P<0. 01). The findings confirmed the efficacy of ACT on death anxiety among women with MS. Conclusion ACT uses the processes of acceptance to change one's connection with thoughts and mental processes and increases psychological flexibility, which results in reducing death anxiety in women with MS. The obtained results can be applied as an effective clinical intervention in these patients.

Background and Aims The increasing number of patients with cancer has led to the growing use of chemotherapy drugs. This fact was followed by a growing concern about the safety and adverse effects of these drugs on healthcare staff at risks for occupational exposure to chemotherapeutic agents. This study investigated compliance with the standard principles of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by nurses exposed to chemotherapy drugs. Methods This was a cross-sectional study. It was performed on 73 personnel of a hospital in Isfahan City, Iran, who were exposed to chemotherapy drugs. The required data were collected by a questionnaire according to the standard protocols of NIOSH, ASHP, and OSHA. After obtaining the required permission by the hospital, the questionnaires were provided to nurses in different wards and data were collected in one stage. The achieved data were analyzed in SPSS by descriptive statistical tests (mean, standard deviation, percentage, & frequency). Results The obtained results revealed that the mean values of the standard principles of using gloves and breathing protective were as average, and the mean values of the standard principles using eye and face protection as well as guns were poor. Conclusion Compliance with the standard principles using personal protective equipment for PPE was modest and poor in nurses working with chemotherapy drugs; therefore, nursing staff is exposed to the complications of these drugs and necessary measures and improvements should be considered in compliance with standards, in this regard.

Background and Aims Continuous clinical evaluations and necessary interventions based on their results have a certain effect on improving the educational process at all levels. Considering such effects, especially in nursing, we aimed to compare the 360-degree feedback in assessing the clinical skills of nursing students in Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. Methods The present interventional study was conducted on the undergraduate Freshman nursing students of the 2014-2015 academic year (48 students) in Ardabil University of Medical Sciences in the burn ward of Fatemi Hospital in Ardabil City, Iran. The data gathering tool was a three-part researcher-made questionnaire for assessing clinical skills. Data analysis was performed in SPSS, using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Independent Samples t-test and Paired Samples t-test. Results In the present study, the total mean± SD scores of the traditional and 360-degree grading based on the score of 20 were 15. 8± 0. 88 and 17. 66± 0. 61, respectively. Moreover, the results of Independent Samples t-test indicated a significant difference between the two methods (P<0. 031). Conclusion According to the obtained results, the use of 360-degree feedback, considering its potential characteristics, can reduce the gap between theory and practice by involving coaches and nurses. Furthermore, this method can effectively reduce the aura errors and evaluation of students' taste by masters and trainers. In addition, it can provide students with more realistic scores in clinical settings and reflect their strengths and weaknesses.
