Abstract: 

This article proposes a professional development (PD) model for university faculty members based on soft skills components. The present study is a qualitative research in which the components of professional development based on soft skills were identified and extracted using thematic analysis and inductive method. The statistical population of the study included all faculty members of Farhangian, Persian Gulf, and Payame Noor universities as well as Islamic Azad University of Bushehr, from among whom 30 faculty members were selected based on purposive sampling. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview which was used till saturation. Finally, the network of themes was coded, analyzed and drawn using the Atriad-Sterling method. The validity of the study was confirmed by the referee using the auditing technique. To ensure the reliability, the interviews were read line by line in two stages and the coding was done manually. After coding, the results of the two codings were compared with each other using the Holstie method. After coding and analyzing the interview data, 107 basic themes were extracted. From among these basic themes, 15 organizing themes and finally 5 comprehensive themes were formed which include; "Leadership and Management Skills", "Individual and Professional Development Skills", "Creativity and Innovation Skills", "Professional Ethics Skills" and "Communication and Partnership Skills", which formed the professional development model for Faculty members were identified and extracted based on soft skills.

Abstract: 

Burnout is one of the most important factors in reducing efficiency and job satisfaction that causes physical and psychological complications in teachers. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between resilience and demographic characteristics among female teachers in Joven. The present study was an applied research in terms of purpose and a descriptive study with a correlational design. The statistical population of the study included 700 female teachers in different educational levels in Joven city. 257 teachers were selected as the sample based on the Cochran sampling formula and using stratified sampling method from three levels of elementary schools (98 people), junior high schools (70 people) and the high schools (89 people). The Maslash (1991) burnout and Connor and Davidson (2003) resilience questionnaires were used to collect data. The data were analyzed via descriptive and inferential statistical methods, using SPSS software version 22. The results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between resilience and burnout. There is also a significant positive relationship between work experience and burnout, but there is a significant negative relationship between job level and burnout. The results showed that resilience and some demographic characteristics play an important role in burnout.

Abstract: 

The present study investigates the components of teaching methods in teaching experimental sciences in elementary schools in Iran and the United Kingdom and compares them. This is a qualitative study with descriptive-analytical method. The data obtained in the research have been qualitatively analyzed. The required data were collected via library documents, journals, research reports, curriculum documents of the studied countries, internet websites, especially the websites of the Ministry of Education of Iran and the United Kingdom. Based on the findings, in the United Kingdom, in teaching experimental sciences, new teaching methods and models, especially exploratory and participatory methods are actively used along with practical and laboratory activities. Also, having appropriate educational facilities and equipment and using information and communication technology are the highlights of success in science teaching methods in the United Kingdom. But in Iran, in many schools, traditional methods are still used in teaching science courses, and there is lack of appropriate educational and laboratory facilities and equipment in most schools. Based on the results of the study, some strategic and practical suggestions were provided to improve the educational quality of science teaching methods in Iran.

Abstract: 

Concerning the importance of innovation in the education system, this study investigates the impact of quantum leadership on organizational innovation through the mediating role of social capital among Birjand city school principals. The purpose of this study is practical and descriptive-correlational in nature. The data collection instruments include Azimee’ s (1390) questionnaire, to measure quantum leadership, and Saatchi et al. ’ s (1389) questionnaire to measure organizational innovation. Social capital was also measured via the Nahapit and Guchal’ s (1998) Questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaires was assessed by Cronbach's alpha test, which was 0. 954 for quantum leadership, 0. 939 for organizational innovation and 0. 879 for social capital questionnaire. Content validity was also used to assess the validity of the questionnaires. The statistical population of the study consisted of all school managers in Birjand. According to the Jersey Morgan table, 134 managers were selected through simple random sampling. Structural equation modeling using Warp-PLS software was used to confirm or reject the assumptions. The results showed that quantum leadership had a positive and significant effect on organizational innovation and social capital of the principals by 59% and 57%, respectively. Also, social capital has 21% positive and significant impact on organizational innovation. Finally, the relationship of partial mediation to social capital was confirmed. Based on the results of this study, school principals are advised to pay due attention to the concept of quantum leadership and use the basic skills of this style of leadership.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting on education and improvement of high school teachers in Bojnourd province. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the study consisted of high school teachers (N=800) who were selected based on cluster sampling method. Based on the Cochran method 259 teachers were selected as the sample of the study. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire whose reliability was confirmed using an inconsistency rate of IR=0. 03, which was less than 0. 1. To analyze data, the AHP and Expert Choice and Excel software were used. Among the different criteria, 4 main criteria and 16 sub criteria were identified for ranking of factors affecting the education and improvement of high school teachers. According to the experts' answers and the results of the hierarchical analysis, the first priority is professional improvement with a weight of. 488, the second priority is organizational improvement with a weight of. 229, the third priority is educational improvement with a weight of. 171 and the fourth priority is individual improvement with a weight of. 148.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Jigsaw teaching method on test anxiety، self-efficacy and academic adjustment of male students in science. The research method was quasi-experimental in which a pre-test-posttest design with unequal control group was used. The participants of the study were 55 male students of the fourth grade of an elementary school in Khoy in the academic year of 97-98. The participants were selected by convenience sampling method and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Test anxiety، self-efficacy and academic adjustment questionnaires were completed by the subjects. The subjects of the experimental group received 51 sessions of Jigsaw teaching method and the control group continued their normal class programs، i. e. lecture method. In order to analyze the data، various descriptive and inferential statistical methods and techniques including mean، standard deviation، analysis of covariance were used. The findings showed that Jigsaw teaching method had a more positive effect on reducing test anxiety، increasing self-efficacy and academic adjustment in contrast to lecturing. The present study contains strategies that science teachers can use.
