Background and Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the role of play therapy based on cognitive-behavioral approach in increasing self-esteem and improving academic performance of students with special learning disabilities (inadequacy and dyslexia). Materials and Methods: The statistical population of the present study consists of 415 primary school male students of Shahid Danesh School in Tehran, who were studying in the academic year of 1996-97. The sample group consisted of 44 students with dyslexia and dyslexia by simple random sampling and were replaced in the experimental and control groups. The research design was experimental (pre-test and post-test with control group). After performing the pre-test of Colorado Learning Disabilities Questionnaire (CLDQ) and Cooper-Smith Self-Esteem Questionnaire for both groups, the experimental group for 2 weeks, in 8 sessions of 45 minutes under play therapy training with cognitive behavior approach developed by Schaffer were included and after this period, posttest was performed for both groups. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Results: The results showed that play therapy significantly increased the level of self-esteem at the level of P <0. 05 and improved the performance of mathematics and reading of students with disability at the level of P <0. 05 and dyslexia at the level of P <0. 01. Conclusions: The results showed that play therapy based on cognitivebehavioral approach as an effective method has a positive effect on increasing students' self-esteem and academic achievement and leads to a reduction in math and reading problems in students with disorders. It becomes special learning.

Background and Objectives: People with hearing impairments are exposed to many health problems. These deficiencies can disrupt the mental health and other aspects of daily living. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience with mental health in people with hearing loss. Materials and Methods: The statistical population consisted of all persons with hearing impairment referred to the audiology center of Faculty of Rehabilitation of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 98-97 and the sample included 154 persons who were selected by available method. Questionnaires were included Goldberg and Hiller's General Health (1979), Bar-An's Emotional Intelligence (1980) and Conner and Davidson's Resiliency questionnaires (2003). Data were analyzed using correlation and stepwise regression. Results: The results of this study showed that all dimensions of emotional intelligence and resiliency had significant positive relationship with mental health. The results of regression analysis also showed that the variables of independence, self-concept, problem solving, optimism, and impulse control were able to predict mental health and explain 21% of its variance. Conclusions: The findings of this study highlight the necessity of considering the underlying variables of emotional intelligence and resilience in mental health of people with hearing impairment and draw the attention of mental health professionals to this issue.

Background and Objectives: Clinical competence is required to provide effective and accurate patient care. For this purpose, it is important to find the components that influence clinical competence and promote it. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between spiritual intelligence and clinical competence in operating room and anesthesia students of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 107 4th and 6th semester students in Hamadan Paramedical Faculty in 2019. Sampling was done by census method. Students' evaluation was done by Kazdin et al. (1986) spiritual intelligence questionnaires and Liu et al. (2009) clinical competency assessment questionnaire. Data were analyzed using correlation tests and t-test. Results: The results showed that 50. 46% of the students had spiritual intelligence score above average (good range) and 49. 54% of students had lower than average score ( good range ). Also 55. 14% of students had clinical competency score above average (good range) and 44. 86% had lower than average grade (good range). Pearson correlation test showed a significant positive correlation between students' spiritual intelligence and their clinical competence (P <0. 047). Conclusions: There was a significant positive correlation between clinical competence and spiritual intelligence. Education authorities can pay attention to the training and promotion of students' spiritual intelligence in order to enhance the clinical competence of the staff. Also, due to the high importance of clinical competency in the operating room area, it is important to conduct this research with a higher statistical population.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: The most obvious way to change behavior in children is open play therapy. In the past, this method has focused more on the therapist interacting with the child, while some models have approached teaching this method to parents and relying on them as a mediator to repair and improve children's behaviors. One of these methods is the parent-child relationship play therapy model (CPRT). The aim of this study was to teach play therapy skills based on the parent-child relationship to mothers, in order to reduce behavioral problems in children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Materials and Methods: In order to investigate this, preschool children aged 6-7 years were evaluated in two stages. In the first phase, 95 children were surveyed by the Child Behavior Inventory (CBCL), of which 27 had behavioral problems and 15 of their mothers were ready to participate in the project. Of these 15 patients, 7 in the experimental group and 8 in the control group were randomly replaced. All of these parents filled out the CBCL questionnaire in the pre-test and post-test stages. The control group waited for treatment and the experimental group participated in a play therapy training program for 10 2-hour sessions. Pre-test and post-test data were compared using Human Whitney test. Results: The results showed that teaching play therapy skills to mothers reduced behavioral problems in children with ADHD in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusions: Thus, it can be said that teaching mothers play-based play therapy based on the parent-child relationship (according to Landarth model) to mothers, in addition to ADHD children's behavioral problems in general, two more specific areas of these problems, namely Reduce internal and external problems to a significant level.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Social Appearance Anxiety refers to social anxiety, especially general appearance, including body shape and the fear of being evaluated by others. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of self-criticism and shyness in predicting social appearance anxiety of female students in Rasht. Materials and Methods: The research was descriptive-correlational and the statistical population included all female students in Rasht. A total of 120 subjects were selected using this method and then tested with Lewis Self-Critical Questionnaire, Social Appearance Anxiety Questionnaire and Chick-Briggs Shyness Questionnaire. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between social appearance anxiety and internalized self-critical component (r =0. 30> P<0. 01), and with social appearance and self-critical component anxiety (r =0. 19> P<0. 01). There was a significant positive relationship with the whole self-criticism scale (r = 0. 32; P <0. 01). Also, there was no significant relationship between shyness variables with any of social appearance anxiety variables. 15% of the total variance of social appearance anxiety is explained by self-criticism and its components. Also, 3% of the total variance of social appearance anxiety is explained by shyness components. Conclusions: Given that social appearance anxiety variable has not been worked with any other variables in Iran so far, this study has little background. It is suggested in future research that this important construct of psychology be studied with other psychological components.
