Abstract:

The present study aimed to qualitatively analyze family experiences of psychiatric veterans. Research method of this research was qualitative method with phenomenological descriptive approach. For this purpose, 16 Psychiatric veterans were selected through purposive sampling and were interviwed by semistructured interview. Sampling continued until data saturation. The data were analyzed using 7 stage Colaizzi method. The data analysis resulted in 3 main themes, 8 subthemes and 42 initial concepts. As the fisrt theme, “ changes in the family framework” consisted of (1-changes in process of family life, 2-relative changes of power position, 3-occupational changes). The second main theme was “ family relationships” consisted of (1-relationship with wife, 2-relationship with child) and the third theme was “ adaptation” consisted of (1-psychologic interventions, 2-personal intervention, 3-family suppport). Rusults showed that psychiatric veterans experience a great deal of vulnerability in different fields because of their special situations. And the necessity of more awareness among relevant organizations, the more support of them and their families, and the formulation of more counseling, psychological and caring programs are felt.

Abstract:

The present study aimed at examining the validity, reliability, and the factor structure of the Profile of Emotional Competence (PEC) among Iranian students. To this end, 518 high school female students were selected in the 2019 academic year using cluster sampling method, and they completed the Profile of Emotional Competence (Brasseur, Gré goire, Bourdu, & Mikolajczak, 2013), Cultural Competence Questionnaire (Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society, 2007), and Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985). To investigate the validity, the confirmatory factor analysis, and the convergent validity were used. The findings of confirmatory factor analysis confirmed a two-factor structure of the questionnaire and yielded two factors named as intra emotional competence and inter emotional competence. The correlation coefficients of the questionnaire scores with life satisfaction and cultural competence were 0. 30 and 0. 52 respectively. These results showed the convergent validity of the scale. To assess the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach’ s alpha was used. The Cronbach’ s alpha coefficient was in satisfactory level for each factor (α = 0. 78 for intra emotional competence, and α = 0. 80 for inter emotional competence), and the total score of the scale (α = 0. 92). The findings suggest that the profile of emotional competence is a reliable and valid instrument for assessing emotional competence for Iranian high school students and can be used as a suitable instrument in psychological research.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the role of moderating of empathy in the relationship between moral judgment and moral behavior of students. For this purpose, 336 students (176 girls and 160 boys) at high school the eighth Grade students in Mashhad were selected using multistage cluster sampling. Tools used in this research were: 15 Questions Checklist Moral Behavior of Swanson and Hill (1993), the short form of Moral Stories of Rest and colleagues (1973), for Moral Judgment, and Empathy Questionnaire of Mark Davies (1994). Different analytical tests including Pearson correlation and hierarchical regression were used to examine the findings The results showed that there is a significant, direct but weak relationship between moral judgment and moral behavior. also there is a positive and significant relationship between empathy and moral behavior. Regression analysis showed empathy has a moderating effect on the relationship between moral judgment and moral behavior, also, the gender differences in two empathic concern and perspective-taking subscales was observed. According to the results, it can be said that not only students’ moral behavior is directly predictable from moral judgment, but also this relationship is being moderated through empathy.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to Investigat the parent-child relationship in predicting gender dysphoria in transsexual women and men. This is a descriptive correlational study. The statistical population included all individuals with gender dysphoria, visiting the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran, from 2014 to 2016, in order to follow legal proceedings for gender reassignment. The participants included 50 women and 50 men with gender dysphoria were selected via convenience sampling, gave informed consent, and Compeleted: Parent– Child Relationship Survey and Gender Identity Disorder Questionnaire. The data was analyzed by Pearson correlation and Simultaneous regression (α =0. 50). Based on the results of regression analysis, the father-child relationship was not able to predict gender dysphoria in transsexual women. However, the Mother-child relationship could predict 21% of gender dysphoria in transsexual women, and the best predictor of gender dysphoria was the role of resentment / role confusion component. The father-child relationship was not able to predict gender dysphoria in transsexual men. But the Mother-child relationship could predict 44% of the variance of gender dysphoria in transsexual men, and the best predictor of gender dysphoria was positive affect and identification. According to the findings of this study, the disturbance and troubled relationship between the parent-child relationship can have a significant role in the incidence of gender dysphoria in transsexual men and women.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating effect of uncertainty at the workplace in relationship between role ambiguity and physical and psychological violence in the workplace. The method of this study is cross-sectional and participants in this study were 279 employees of Iran’ s Polyacryl Company selected using convenient sampling. The instruments used including the Uncertainty at the Workplace Scale, Role Ambiguity Scale, and Physical and Psychological Violence Questionnaire (Menard & Met al, 2011). Data was analyzed using the hierarchical regression and moderate analysis. The findings indicated that participants, physical and psychological violence increased, when uncertainty at the workplace was high. Also moderating effect of uncertainty at the workplace in relationship between role ambiguity and physical and psychological violence in the workplace was confirmed.

Abstract:

The purpose of the current study is to investigate the mediating role of Personal maladaptive perfectionism and parental psychological control in the relationship between parental maladaptive perfectionism with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), using structural equation modeling (SEM). The research design is descriptive-correlation study. The participants were 586 students of Islamic Azad University, Tabriz Branch, University of Tabriz, and Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University in Iran selected using the cluster sampling method. Data were gathered by Obsessive Compulsive Inventory Revised (OCI-R), Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS), and Dependency-Oriented and Achievement-Oriented Psychological Control Scale (DAPCS), and were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS V. 24. SEM confirmed the proposed model (χ 2 /df = 1. 94, RMSEA = 0. 04, CFI = 0. 97, GFI = 0. 96, AGFI = 0. 94) and indicated that parental maladaptive perfectionism with Personal maladaptive perfectionism and parental psychological control mediation affects OCD with standard coefficient of 0. 47 (P˂ 0. 05). The findings, supporting the theoretical model, propose a suitable framework for psychopathology of the disorders that emphasize Parental maladaptive perfectionism anticipates the obsessive-compulsive disorder through parental psychological control and Personal maladaptive perfectionism. These findings, can be useful in developing etiology, efficacious therapeutic interventions and preventions for OCD.
