Scabies is an important skin disease attended by intense itching, specially at nights. It is caused in human by a kind of arthropode called" sacopt scabiei var hominis". It is transmitted by touch from person and transmission is less likely through touch of infected clothes, beds, towels and bed sheets. Scabies is observed through out the world specially not and humid areas and in crowded places like prisons, barracks, rest-nouses, etc. This descriptive study was conducted to determine the prevalence of subjects was 763 from whom 609 soldiers were suspected to have scabies. Using scraping test method, specimens were prepared from cautanous canals and papules and the parasite was diagnosed through microscopic method. The prevalence of scabies among subjects (763 soldiers) was determined to be 125.5 per 1000. There was a significant difference between rest house residency and morbidity (P = 0 .046). 25.26% of positive cases belonged to defense group. There was a significant difference disease prevalence and. service section (p = ) . In this study the relationship between scabies and factors such as age, educational level service record, the dispersion of skin lesions, time of itching, treatment, and health education were examined. Based on the results of this study, it is highly probable that the rest houses of the air force base are sources of infection and prevalence of the disease among soldiers.
