Abstract

 The most common method of teaching Chemistry topics in the second secondary/high school is the transfer method. In the transfer method, knowledge is transferred from the mind of the teacher to the mind of the students. The teaching of Chemistry subjects through this method has been unsuccessful due to its intrinsic complexity and inseparability from mathematics. Brainstorming teaching method is an educational model based on creative thinking and stimulating student creativity. In this educational method, using four creativity factors (fluidity, expansion, flexibility and innovation) it tries to convey the concepts of the Chemistry course. The constructivist method is a new educational model based on the interaction of the recipient of knowledge with the relevant scientific topic. In this educational method, the student learns the subject by using experimental, laboratory activities and with the help of educational aids. In this study, the important topic of Enthalpy in the 11th grade Chemistry textbook was taught to two class groups of 35 students in two shifts in the morning and in the evening of Shahid Nawab Safavi School through two educational models of brainstorming and constructivism, and at the end, the two groups took a class test and the scores of the two groups were analyzed together through the t-pair statistical test with a significance level of p<0. 05 and SPSS Ver. 21 statistical software. The result of the study shows that the constructivism method is more effective than the brainstorming method in teaching the subject of Enthalpy in Chemistry class.
