RESEARCH BEGINS WITH HYPOTHESIS AND NOT NECESSARILY WITH A QUESTION

Abstract

The main idea of this article is that a research could not begin with a question; even with a precise question. Rather, one needs to have a hypothesis to be able to begin a research. Hypothesis is the motivation of a researcher to examine what he or she thinks about relationship between phenomenon’s. Without such a motivation one could not launch a research. Questions, more or less precise, exist in our mind; about everything in the world. One can begin to know (or to test) only when he or she has a preliminary judgment or opinion about relationship between things (variables). Question by itself could lead to ambiguity and consequently to a static situation of the mind, but hypothesis change this static situation to dynamic one: that is hypothesis.
