Abstract

A Cultural, intellectual and social movement, ROMANTICISM emerged in the close of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries and, consequently, affected the culture and thought of Iranian poets, such as HASSAN HONARMANDY. On of the contemporary Iranian poets, HASSAN HONARMANDY earned prominent fame with his collection of poems, called "Fright", in 1330 s in Iran. Undoubtedly his familiarity with French literature and his translation of some of French works into Persian have influenced his poetical thinking. The basics of ROMANTICISM and INDIVIDUAL SENSATIONS are clearly visible in his poems. The most beautiful facets of Persian ROMANTICISM are reflected "Fright".In addition to showing the fundamentals of ROMANTICISM, this study illustrates the effect of the on the mind and language of Honarmandy, citing evidences from his poetry. The influence of romantic nostalgia in his poetry is also dealt with.
