Title

The qualitative Study of self-Schemata and personal-schemata between two Student's Organizations: student Basij and Islamic Association in The University of Tehran

Abstract

 This article studies The Personal Schemata of the student Basij and self-schemata of Islamic Association. People often perceive others based on the schemata which exists from others in their memory, and try to communicate with others on this basis. According to Nishida's theory, schemata's is a collection of past experiences that are categorized in relevant knowledge groups and used to guide our behaviors in familiar situations. According to this definition, personal and self-schemata are two of the types of schemata's. The method approach in this study is a qualitative approach, Semi-structured interview was conducted between 46 active members of these groups. Data analysis has been carried out in the form of thematic analysis. Using the data analysis, the five personalized of the members of the Basij were identified, which included "opposition", "modernism", "moral relativism", "superficiality" and " Absoluteism. " Among these themes, the two sub-themes of pluralism and religious intellectualism, defined below as "modernism", are themes that are self-referential to the members of the Islamic association and are named as "similar schemata". the themes of paradox and free relations are two of the themes of the schemata from another perspective, which are similar to that of the self schemata of the Basij members. The self-concept of the Islamic association from its point of view, including fluid identity, commitment to velayat-e faqih and religious. Also they refer to the concept of fluid identity as a self-schema, while the Basij members express the Lack of identity as a personal schema about them.
