Abstract

Gathering related traditions, along with its commentaries and interpretations given by Hadith scholars is of great significance to a better understanding of traditions. This article analytically investigates the traditions of "thousand doors of knowledge", (alf bab), in addition to the words of both Shia and Sunni scholars. The Sunni’s point of view on this group of traditions is regarded important from two aspects: first, concerning its reflection and narration in Sunni hadith sources; second, concerning their approach to "virtue" traditions on Ahl-al-Bayt’s (PBUT, from which these are just a part. In the second part, this article has considered the process and consequence of these traditions, deducing the increase of Imam’s knowledge, while the process of its transmission has been explained.
