Abstract

MOZAFFAR NAVVAB is a Shia and revolutionary contemporary poet of Iraq who invested his whole life for the sake of defense of truth and reality as well as campaigning against the dictatorial regime. For that reason, he was imprisoned and even banished on number of occasions. Mozaffar is the most prominent figure so far as modern or free Arab poetry is concerned. Large part of his poetic collections deals with political, revolutionary and COMBATing aspects. Further, Palestinian ideas have special place in his work hence, can be easily called as a Palestinian poet. At the same time, Mozaffar is a kind of poet who is more inclined to the values and basis of religion and sect. For the sake of strengthening his revolutionary ideas against the enemies of Islam (according to him Abu Sufiyan, Maawiya, Umro bin A 'as and Hujjaj) he has elaborate his points beautifully and enthusiastically. The POEMS of Mozaffar have a lot of similarities with Dab 'al Khazaeei, the revolutionary poet of the Abbasid era. Like Dab 'ai, he invested his whole life into journey and homelessness. Like Dab 'ai, he has great love for Prophet Mohammad and his noble family and avoids praising rulers. Like Dab 'ai, his collections are about the backbiting of tyrants. The present paper tries to focus on the poetical characteristics of MOZAFFAR NAVVAB by taking into consideration his works.
