Abstract

The attempts of BAHRAIN's people for reforming the political structure of that country began along with the public revolutions in Arab world. It has continued non-stop up to now, but the political regime dominating that country has refrained to fulfill the requests of the dissenters and protestors. Besides, the Arab and WESTERN COUNTRIES, under the geopolitical necessities and supporting the royal regime governing BAHRAIN, have prevented the realization of revolutionists' requests.This article uses a descriptive-analytical method to investigate the importance and political condition of BAHRAIN and explain the role of the geopolitical factors and players in non-realization of DEMOCRACY in that country.The results of the study show that the geopolitical situation of BAHRAIN and GEOPOLITICS of energy that have heightened the geopolitical status of BAHRAIN have attracted the attention of regional and international players. However, the Shiite GEOPOLITICS has caused them to be worried about the political changes in BAHRAIN and, consequently, endanger their interests. Therefore, it seems that these factors, while supporting the political stability and the political regime governing BAHRAIN, hinder the realization of democratic movements in that country. Besides, the geopolitical rivalries between the Shiite and the Sunnite groups have caused the Sunnite political groups to resist against the establishment DEMOCRACY in that country.
