Abstract

Ferdowsi's SHAHNAMEH, besides its poetic superiorities and beauties and verbal and rhetorical dimensions, is a rich treasure of political, social and historical information, a valid document for understanding ancient Iran culture & civilization, and an authentic reporter of Iranian traditions, mores and manners, understanding of and access to some of which is not possible except by studying the SHAHNAMEH.Marital etiquette and forming a FAMILY are among the rites that the Hakim (scholar) of Toos has mentioned on various occasions in the stories.The article discusses subjects of starting a FAMILY and forming of FAMILY relation by referring to some of SHAHNAMEH stories. Some of traditions and manners pertinent to MARRIAGE, child's birth, child's upbringing and relation of the FAMILY's members with each other are compiled while observing the scientific classification.
