Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the REPRESENTATION of FAMILY RELATIONS in four seasons of "Payetakht" TV series. Hereto, John Fisk's SEMIOTICS methodology was used. Scene was chosen as the analytical unit and the selected scenes were selected purposefully from 20 different episodes of this series. The results of the research indicate a set of cultural implications regarding intimate and proximate relationships among family members. According to the conducted REPRESENTATION, family, in this series, is a sincere structure, which enjoys close ties between husband, wife, parents and children. Generally, the codes used in "Paytakht" series represent the ideology of an intimate family.
