Abstract

One of the most important issues of identifying main SEARCH ENGINEs in recovering the information understands how INTERNET users use it and what are their expectations; also it gives us a view in designing SEARCH ENGINEs. This subject has a great importance concerning designing “National SEARCH ENGINE” in Iran.This paper initially studies contents of INTERNET, then the results of a research on satisfaction of the users of the SEARCH ENGINEs to recover the information, how to work with SEARCH ENGINEs and the POPULARITY of the SEARCH ENGINEs, that have been asked of about one thousand professional INTERNET users, are presented. The results of each research was scrutinized and explained, then a general guidline about designing national SEARCH ENGINE of Iran has been presented.
