Abstract

Some of the cities in Iran like Yazd because of time and space as well as sociocultural indicators are considered Islamic and only as far as other components like physical aspects and urbanization identity it can be classified based on different categories such as land uses, architectural and structural signs, civic activities, dynamic characteristics and the view of the city. Thus in the present study we have tried to use a descriptive-analytic method as well as statistical tests to effects of religious utilization on the identity of an Islamic city focusing on the first and second districts of Yazd. Finally the obtained data showed that the effect of religious utilization has had a more significant effect on the identity of the Islamic city in the second district compared with the first district of Yazd.
