Abstract

QUALITY OF LIFE (QOL) is one of the major issues in urban studies and includes social, environmental and economic dimensions. With regard to their roles in determining livability of cities in general and PRE-DESIGNED NEIGHBORHOOD specially, the focuses on these dimensions have been increasing fast. Because of planning and designing before construction, PRE-DESIGNED NEIGHBORHOODs are expected to have a higher degree of QOL in comparison to traditional neighborhoods. The research tries to formulate an EVALUATION MODEL of QUALITY OF LIFE on the basis of people's satisfaction from QOL indicators. The population of the research are citizens in phase 1 of koy-e-Mallat in AHWAZ CITY whom have been randomly sampled. The result of research using SEM modeling shows that physical environment is the most important dimension of QOL and most objectives part of planning expectation for neighborhood are achieved. After that, goods- infrastructures and services, economic dimension, social dimension are considered as the important ones in QOL determination. Formulating this evaluative model shows that its result can be used as a effective tool for guiding the improvement scenario for these kind of neighborhoods.
