Abstract

The issue of Revelation can be examined with two ontological and epistemological approaches. This paper examines the ontological approach to Revelation and the quality of its being revealed from Mulla Sadra's point of view. Findings of the research show that, from Mulla Sadra's point of view, Revelation is initially a rational truth appearing in the next levels of imagination and sensation respectively. In these triple orders, the Revelation is present at the levels of the prophet's soul and it is realized in its realm of existence. Therefore, in all orders of Revelation, the Prophet`s existential nature would become the receiver of the Revelation truths, and the role of Gabriel as the angel of Revelation and one of the manifestations of the perfect human being is inferior to those reasonable meanings.
