Abstract

post-traumatic growth can have a positive effect on the process of cancer treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the post-traumatic growth relationship with spiritual well-being, subjective well-being, psychological well-being and hope in cancer patients. A Sample of 225 cancer patients selected by convenience sampling method. The measures used in this study were silver lining questionnaire, spiritual well-being scale, and well-being index WHO-5, satisfaction with life scale, positive affect and negative affect scale and hope scale. The obtained data analyzed by Pearson correlation and multiple regression statistical tests. The results showed a positive and meaningful correlation between post-traumatic growth and psychological, spiritual, and subjective well-being as well as hope. Furthermore, psychological well-being and existential well-being, as one of the components of spiritual well-being, in addition to hope pathways’ components have a meaningful role in the prediction of post-traumatic growth. The results illustrate that post-traumatic growth in cancer patients could increase by education and interventions.
