Abstract

Nur ad-Din Abd al-Rahman JAMI (1414 –1992) is the Persian poet and composer of two long LOVE stories in poemsverse, Leili and Majnoon and Yusof and Zoleikha, where he has examined the concept of LOVE from mystical and scholastic point of view. He believes that LOVE flows in all things and CREATION can only be made sense by LOVE. God LOVEd himself and intuited his own perfections and so the CREATION was begun. The present article tries to illuminate ambiguities and inconsistencies that exist in his JAMI’s interpretation of LOVE.
