Abstract

Maya civilization discovered 150 years ago is one of the greatest civilization of Latin America. The people of this nation spoke Maya and used a certain type of Hieroglyph orthography that has still not been completely interpreted nor decoded. hieroglyphs used by the Maya people were usually shaped in quadrangular shapes that changed by the addition of prefixes, suffixes, or mid-fixes. One researcher on American studies has depicted 492 primitive signs and 370 prefixes and suffixes while the three remaining logographs contain only 10000 glyphs. In general, these depictions include multi-shaped logographs, human limbs, human portraits, gods with features of animals, and mythical sculptures. These hieroglyphs are not presented only as syllables but also as thought-written acoustics. According to evidence it may be claimed that this orthography was exclusively in the service of the elite and the clergy.
