Abstract

This article discusses the concept of KHON-BORI or KHON-BAS, a method of conflict resolution in the case of blood feuds among the BAKHTIARIS of IZEH. KHON-BORI or KHON-BAS exists among other Lors as well as other ethnic groups such Arabs and Baluch (under different names). Our research, employing a set of qualitative methodologies, indicates that despite the existence of formal judicial channels in IZEH, many families still prefer to employ KHON-BAS to resolve their conflicts.
