Abstract

This article investigates the story of PEYKAR-E FARHAD by Abbas Maroufi and BOOF-E KOOR by Sadegh Hedayat, based on the theory of intersexuality. According to this theory, a text is not created in isolation and cannot be read or interpreted without making references to the other texts. In reading the story of PEYKAR-E FARHAD the influence of BOOF-E KOOR is noticeable. In fact, there are some signs presented in PEYKAR-E FARHAD which can be utilized to find the sources of intersexual references in the text. This research, using comparative methods based on the theory of intersexuality, attempts to prove that the commonality between PEYKAR-E FARHAD and BOOF-E KOORis not accidental and reflects the influence of Hedayat on Maroufi. Similar plot and narrative style (stream of consciousness), the belief in reincarnation, the use of common symbols such as the Blue Lily and so forth are some of the features that PEYKAR-E FARHAD shares with BOOF-E KOOR.
