Abstract

Au bout de la grande chaîne évolutive des robinsonnades qui, depuis Daniel Defoe, ont traité le mythe de Robinson, se trouventVendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique et Le chercheur d’or. Traditionnellement, beaucoup de leurs prédécesseurs, les adeptes de Daniel Defoe, romancier anglais et créateur du mythe, ont retracé un ou plusieurs naufragés qui se sont emprisonnés dans une île inconnue. Mais ce qui en distingue ces deux derniers auteurs, c’est leur souci d’n renverser certains traits. Cela était déclenché depuis Giraudoux avec son Suzanne et le Pacifique, mais c’est Michel Tournier qui, le premier, l’a mené à bien.. Dix-huit ans plus tard, Le Clézio, d’ailleurs soucieux de nouvelles préoccupations en fait une autre variante. Comme Tournier, son histoire se passe à deux niveaux: manifeste et latent.Puisque ces deux ouvrages prouvent un regain d’intérêt autour d' unenouvelle interprétation du mythe de Robinson, et que celle-ci réside avant tout dans un nouveau regard envers la notion du temps et de l' espace, nous envisagerons de faire une étude comparée sur la modalité de la thématique spatio-temporelle afin de faire apparaître la nouvelle perspective de Robinson comme une grande figure emblématique mais aussi personnage mythique de la littérature française contemporaine.
