Abstract

Allah the Exalted has stated in verse 5 of the Surah of Jonah: “It is He who made the sun radiance and the moon a light, and determined it by stations, that you might know the number of the years and the reckoning”. The Arab poet says: “just as our ancestors demised, we will too; and the TIME will undergo no change and will remain”. The present article studies the concept of TIME from different point of views. It considers the meaning of TIME, calendar, and number of days from the point of views of Iranian and Arabic scholars as well as in Quran and ARABIC LITERATURE especially in dark ages, Abbasid contemporary era.
