Abstract

One of the most important strategic achievements of countries in international relations is power. Soft Power became centre of attention of countries from the 1990s for the purpose of optimisation of Foreign Policy due to its low cost and its legitimacy towards Hard Power. Hard Power stresses on the power of force in the form of material and military factors. In the first decade of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the USA did all it could to overthrow the Islamic Republic system in Iran. With its failure in the use of Hard Power against Iran, America adopted the Soft Power and changed its approach to putting pressure on the IRI. This research intends to review the following question: “ what have America’ s Soft Power headings been against the IRI? ” The Hypothesis is that: “ America’ s approach changed the nature of power and replaced Hard Power, with Soft Power and with consideration of the expansion of Soft Power, changed following the failure of the hard approach, and adopted tools such as diplomacy and nonmaterial factors for influence and change the political system of Iran. " The method of this research is descriptive-analytical. The data collection method is the library method.
