Cadmium and lead accumulation in edible tissues of common carp ) Cyprinus carpio) fish caught from the International Anzali Lagoon

Pages

  19-26

Abstract

This study focused on accumulation of heavy metals (Pb and Cd) in the Edible tissues of Crucian and theirs compared with the standard of American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Food Agricultural Organization (FAO). Three treatments were considered for this research. Treatments were fish caught from 3 stations (West, Center and East) of Anzali wetland in 1391. Sampling was conducted in autumn of 1391. Samples were determined for Pb and Cd by using a flam atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The average concentrations of Cadmium in the soft tissue of Carp fish were 0. 05, 0. 04 and 0. 05 μ g/g. dry base for West, East and Center of Wetland. For Lead, average concentrations for West, Center and East were 0. 39, 0. 65 and 1. 03 μ g/g. dw, respectively. Cadmium of Carp fish was not significant difference compared with together in West, East and Central stations (P>0. 05). Amounts of Cadmium in Carp fish of Central, West and East Lagoon were in the range of global standards and Lead in Carp fish of west Lagoon was in global standards permissible range. Lead was not significant difference with comparison to FAO in East and Center of Wetland (P>0. 05). According to the results Carp fish caught from Anzali wetland in East, Central and West in terms of health food is suitable for human consumption and it has no side effects for human consumption.
