Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain the effectiveness of narrative therapy approach on marital commitment and sexual satisfaction in Isfahan city. This research was a quasi-experimental in which pretest-posttest with control groups was used. Statistical population consisted of all married women referred to counseling centers with marital problems. By using available sampling, 30 individuals were selected and randomly assigned into two groups of control (15 women) and control (15 women). Questionnaire Pini (sexual satisfaction, 1987), Questionnaire Adams & jones (marital commitment Questionnaire, 1997) were used for research. The experimental group received of narrative therapy training in 8 sessions (90 minutes each). The findings were analyzed by SPSS-22 software using covariance analysis. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between marital commitment and sexual satisfaction after pretest control (p≤ 0. 05). Therefore, group therapy of narrative therapy is effective in increasing marital commitment and sexual satisfaction of married women.
