Abstract

Background and aim: academic passion is associated with a variety of cognitive, emotional and behavioral factors. The purpose of the research is surveying the impact of mental endurance on academic passion of students. Materials and methods: The research method is descriptive-correlational. The present study selected 145 students of Isfahan Farhangian University (Fatemeh Alzahra campus) applying Cochran Formula through random Stratified sampling method, and they responded to mental endurance questionnaire (MTQ, 48), Peter Kallp et al (2002) and academic passion scale Frederic et al (2004). The gathered data were analyzed by regression analysis. Results: Results showed that components of mental endurance have a positive and significant impact on academic passion (r=0/397), (P ≤ 0/01). The results of Regression Analysis showed that 15% of changes in academic passion are predictable by mental endurance and only the component of commitment can predict academic passion (t=5/17), (P≤ 0/01). Conclusion: According to the ability of mental endurance to predict academic passion, it can be considered as an underlay for motivation and academic achievement. Therefore, it can be applied in training courses to increase students’ academic passion.
