Abstract

SOCIAL TRUST is one of the social achievements that play a vital role in human relationships and interactions. The fundamental pivot of SOCIAL INTERACTIONS is “trust”. The role of “trust” in the interaction of small and large groups is different. Trust makes people to stop being suspicious in their social relationships with others and to establish more intimate relations which cannot be formed without trust. This study investigates the way SOCIAL INTERACTIONS can have an impact in formation and maintenance of SOCIAL TRUST in the current situation of inhabitants in Tehran.The present study is descriptive and the survey method was used to collect questionnaires. To sampling participants, random clustering sampling was used. The research participants were all Tehrani citizens over 18, living in third and seventeenth zones at 1389. To determining sample size, Cochran formula was used, based on 400 cases were included as the sample size.SOCIAL TRUST was examined in six dimensions of honesty, frankness, sharing, cooperative dispositions, trusting and trust. The results of the study showed that significant relations between the variables of SOCIAL INTERACTIONS, SOCIAL TIEs, ALTRUISM, and RELIGIOSITY with the rate of SOCIAL TRUST.
