APPLICATION OF FUZZY AHP TECHNIQUE TO SELECTION THE MOST EFFICIENT METHOD OF IMPROVING OF PRODUCTIVITY (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Abstract

 Nowadays almost all of developed countries and some of developing counties have invested to improve PRODUCTIVITY in different levels of national, region, factories and even its people very vast and they have understood that exact and correct attention to PRODUCTIVITY has leaded to continuous economic increase. Some surveys have shown that continuous increase in PRODUCTIVITY is one of the retaining conditions of companies and this is one of the main factors that has effected in the growth of countries economy.With attention to the rule of PRODUCTIVITY in economic improvement of companies and growing of country, in this paper, determining and removing of the main low PRODUCTIVITY causes is proposed by FUZZY AHP TECHNIQUE with respect to new FUZZY PRIORITIZATION METHOD proposed by wang in 2007. In the other words; the aim of this paper is twofold. One is to evaluate different increasing PRODUCTIVITY strategies with the application of the fuzzy AHP method, allowing better modeling of the uncertain judgments with the help of triangular fuzzy numbers. The other is to introduce another application of new FUZZY PRIORITIZATION METHOD proposed by wang (2007), this new method can derive exact priorities from fuzzy judgment matrices of pairwise comparisons, in order to avoid the fuzzy priorities calculation and fuzzy ranking procedures as in traditional fuzzy AHP methods. The presented modification of the fuzzy AHP might be beneficial for company managers to select improving PRODUCTIVITY methods as well as other MCDM problems..At the first step the reasons of low PRODUCTIVITY and improving PRODUCTIVITY methods have determined by brain storming method. Afterward, the proposed methods have sorted by FUZZY AHP TECHNIQUE to determining the best and most efficient improving PRODUCTIVITY method. In order to avoid the fuzzy priority calculation and fuzzy ranking procedures in the traditional fuzzy AHP methods, the new FUZZY PRIORITIZATION METHOD proposed by wang (2007).A specific example of ranking of improving PRODUCTIVITY methods in a reconstructive services company with the application of the proposed fuzzy AHP method is given. As demonstrated by this case study, the fuzzy AHP method proposed in this paper is a simple and effective tool for tackling the uncertainty and imprecision associated with MCDM problems, which might prove beneficial for different companies' managers to improve the PRODUCTIVITY of their company.
